Arrested for underage drinking and disorderly conduct. :( I really, really thought our players (women's basketball players) had better sense. Very disappointed. No word yet from SV on what the consequences will be.

Certainly disappointing, but I would think it warrants a slap on the wrist. It was no worse than many of the basketball and football players have done, why hold a women's basketball player to a higher level? Wilson is a good kid who simply made a mistake. This is the first time a player SV recruited has a run in with the law which should say something about the type of people SV has recruited.

It is unusual to hear it being one of our female athletes. But, college students are college students and have been since the beginning of colleges. You would hope they have better judgement, but I am sure Coach Versyp will handle this properly.

The underage drinking charge is not a huge deal to me. Disorderly conduct? That could be something or it could be her being with people who were just stupid and she got charged because she was with the group and had been drinking. That seems like something that could be dropped at a later time too. Didn't DJ Byrd get charged with that initially a couple of years ago and it ended up getting dropped to just the PI charge?

Not sure about everyone else, but I'm guessing the only difference between her and most here are that she got caught drinking underage. I know for certain I'd be an absolute hypocrite for being critical of anyone for that.

Yeah, without knowing all the facts, it's hard to tell how bad this was. My daughter has a friend who got the same two counts filed against her a few years ago. About four kids, two 20 and two 21 at the time, drank a bunch of cheap wine and cola and then got caught swimming in the city fountain. They splashed the cop which ticked him off. The judge scared them to death which ended up working pretty well for discipline. They never got in trouble again.

I'm not trying to downplay that it is against the law but at least it didn't involve driving. Scholarship athletes should hold themselves to a higher standing but they are still kids. I'm sure it will be handled by the coach as she isn't wishy-washy on things it seems.

Maybe Pride. But she's been pretty negative on Coach V with recruits and anyone else who wants to listen. That's not good for the team.

Interesting first post under this sig.. Seems like every once in awhile we get a hit from someone who might have a connection to the team and have some venting on their agenda. Wow, we must have more relevance than I thought. Maybe we come across as good listeners. Maybe it's because there is anonymity from the sender on these boards. Who knows? We are just stupid fans who dream for better times and are blinded by our hearts. Do you think the mods ever follow IP addresses to see where a different post is coming from? They can do that. Maybe they don't care. Okay, back to changing the world.

That would be most unfortunate. We need all the positive perspective we can get when it comes to recruiting. What is her primary issue with Coach V?

Wilson is the best point guard we have had for some time. She must become a leader of this team for it to succeed, and for her to succeed. I don't see this underage drinking problem as a major issue, but I would see her attitude as a big problem, if this comment rings true.

Well it seems if she has negative to recruits it hasn't had much effect and the recruits arren't beleiving her since we are geting alot of good recruits. If she has a problem then she should either work it out with the coach or she should leave. As I say with any unhappy player: good luck but don't let the door hit you in the ass.

It seems after a single negative post, our new friend has not cared to respond, or post anything else for that matter. Sure lends a lot of credibility to this #1 post.

Re: Pinzgauer

Sorry, I've been out for a while. If this post sounds like a Troll with no credibility, good, it doesn't make things look as bad. I will say this, if Ms. Wilson is as unhappy as she's told a number of people she is, she needs to transfer. The private side-bars with the recruits discouraging them from coming to Purdue need to stop. She's a great talent and could be our best PG since Figgs. If she stays here, I sincerely wish her success. I hope she becomes the player she can be and make the most of her Purdue career. But at the very least, quit with the shenanigans.

Nothing is more devastating to a team than cancer in the lockerroom .

Folks, is any of this about Wilson substantiated? We know that she was arrested but is it really known that she is negative about Coach V and/or has openly discouraged recruits from coming here. If not, it should not be discussed on this board.

I would highly suspect that if this was true that coach Versyp would have dismissed her from the team, so I suspect that it isn't. And until I hear hear differently that is what I will believe.
