That loss last night broke my passion for Purdue basketball. Normally after a loss like that I am pissed and in a bad mood for hours if not longer. But toward the end of the game I found myselft not giving a F. I wasn't sour and woke up in a fine mood.

I realized I am now apathetic toward Purdue basketball because I am resigned to the fact that this is what Purdue's basketball program is. Very good but not elite. My expectations have been managed.

Maybe it's a healthy thing for me. The same thing happened during the Hazell years of football. I still have season tickets but am fairly apathetic about the outcomes of football games too (aside from playing IU).

Has this happened to others? And is this a good thing?
