I created an account a few years ago on the Human Resources Website for Purdue to see if I could get a sniff of when potential hires would be coming in when Hazell was hired. Just got an email that the DC position was put up. I assume it is done in accordance with Title 9 and other hiring laws to ensure they are on the up and up..but usually the posting is obviously just a ceremonial one. Don't be surprised to hear of a DC hire by next week!

I thought it was 7 days on those postings.

And WKU plays in their bowl game in 7 days from today. After which I expect several of their coaches to move on. Coincidence?
To add to the theory that much of Brohm's WKU staff, including DC Holt, will follow him to Purdue.. I was thinking yesterday about the new commits. What are the odds that CJB would accept verbals, esp. the verbal of a not highly rated player, before hiring a DC and position coaches.. unless those coaches are already identified and working with CJB in the background, and weighing in on recruits. Otherwise, why not wait and allow the new coaches to have a say and identify who is best for their system? Especially on the defensive side. Also why was there one position coach identified immediately and then nothing.. Most likely answer is the others are still coaching at a school whose season CJB doesn't want to mess with.

I hope we go after and get Phil Snow he is 60 (not going to jump to HC unless temple keeps him), seems to have a lot of experience in the Midwest, runs a 4-3 hybrid. Temple D is probably one of the best in the G5. If he doesn't get the Temple job, I'd love for him to become a the leader of our defense.

Appears he's going to Baylor with Rhule

All is quiet on the DC front.. At this point what are the odds it is anyone but Holt?
After the WKU bowl game I'm expecting Holt and several of their coaches to be announced.

I think Brohm would give him right of first refusal of the job. Why not? He did decent enough to win 10 games two years in a row and Brohm appears to be comfortable with him

Am assuming that 50% of his staff will be coming with............considering WKU hired outside the current staff. Very concerned about the Def though..............

What concerns you about defense? WKU was first in their league (conference games) in scoring defense this year.

Not an easy task when you have a high powered offense.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll post it here as well. Every defensive coach has been a DC somewhere with Holt and Cassity doing so at very good schools. That's a very good staff, at least as far as coaching. I'm surprised he has more coaches on the offense, however with Brohm being an offensive guy as well.

Levine (former Houston coach) is Special teams coach. Also listed as TE and co OC if I remember correctly. But that's why it looked like Brohm had one more offensive coach. He puts a big emphasis on special teams....and has a separate coordinator.

The guys I hope he brings over the most are Levine, both Brohm's, and Holt. I'd be happy with the whole staff though minus the one for Shephard.

My guess is entire staff with possible exceptions of safety's coach and oline coach (and wr coach as you pointed out). Those are the two from an experience standpoint that Brohm may want to upgrade.

Did you watch the two La.Tech games? They passed up and down the field against them for over 400 yds in both games..55-44 pts. Just sayin the secondary a big concern.Hopefullyhe can fix that when he gets here...........

Welcome to college football today. High powered offense are going to be involved in some shootouts.

If you base your assessment of defenses based on individual games, good luck finding any coaches that meet your standard.

WKU scoring defense was first in conference this year (conference games). Full conference season would seem to be more relevant than individual games.

I believe their overall defense was ranked 37th or right around there. I don't know what it would be, but I'd guess significantly higher without those two games. LaTech put up points against everyone this year. Also, from Brohm's first year to his last there was a significant improvement over those three years.
