Andrew White Announces Grad Transfer from Nebraska

Of the pursuers, Andrew White III has trimmed his list down to 4 schools: Michigan State, Syracuse, Texas, and VCU.

Another that comes to mind is Jon Diebler @ Ohio State.

"Lee Humphrey" (for BoilerDaddy). That was almost 10 years ago now. Rule changes and the One-And-Done era and mindset have somewhat altered the makeup of title teams since those back-to-back Florida teams. Luke Hancock was about 6'6 (maybe 6'7) and played the 3 more than he played the 2 for Louisville (and George Mason, his first school).

Jon Diebler never made it to a Final Four. Ohio State was the NIT Champs in '07-'08, lost in the first round to Fran McCaffery's Siena Saints in '08-'09, lost in the Sweet Sixteen to Tennessee in '09-'10, and lost in the Sweet Sixteen to Kentucky in '10-'11 (Brandin Knight drive and pull-up jumper over Aaron Craft in the closing seconds).

Just stop. Your poorly supported, illogical, emotionally based dislike for EVERYTHING Painter does or does not do makes you look really bad. Someone else asked if you were OK because your posts have deteriorated .... and you went off on them.

There are some things he does well in game situations in regards to coaching man D, foul-situation subbing, playing the hot-hands and so on but there are still plenty of other things that he and his staff could improve upon and better communicate.

My personal belief and opinion is my source. I'm entitled to it as much as you are entitled to yours.
Oh, I agree. No reason to get sensitive. It's just that if anyone claims to be an authority by writing the following statement, it's only fair to be asked where that understanding was gained.

"I have an understanding of team dynamics and also their ceiling: Purdue's not going to win an NCAA Tournament Region with Dakota Mathias or Ryan Cline as their starters minutes 2-guard."

This obviously implies that you have gained an understanding that others who do not share your opinion have not.

Are you saying that you don't think that Florida team (one of only two repeat champions in the last 40 years) could have won the championship last year? I think that they would have been clear favorites and would have beaten last season's Villanova team three times out of four.

What rule changes would have prevented them from winning the championship in recent years? What does the one and done era have to do with anything? The rule was already in place when Florida won it's championships and its 2007 finals opponent, Ohio State, featured two great one and done freshmen in Greg Oden and Mike Conley.

I am not saying for a minute that Purdue will be close to as good as those Florida teams. They were truly an elite team with one of the best front lines that I have ever seen in college basketball and a very good point guard, but I don't think that they were a championship team without Humphrey, especially in 2006. He played a very important role for them.

I am so looking forward to both Mathias and Cline being so good offensively that CMP can not keep them off the floor for any reason. I'm not waiting for either one to become All BIG defenders. I think we win with them getting alot of minutes.

Just clarifying my response.....my reference was to a top-rated/ranked team recently, not necessarily a FF team or NCAA champ.....could have made that clearer.

as Nage points out, Ohio State did not win the tournament or make the Final Four those years.....my view (and it's just my opinion) is that it wasn't because Diebler was the 2G. I think it's more a function of how the NCAA tournament can be unpredictable as to individual results in various parts of the bracket. IMO, that 2011 Ohio State team was very, very good, and a tough out.....I do think Caliparia out-coached Matta in that regional game. I would take a talentd team like that any day and take my chances.....Sometimes, though it just doesn't work out.

Everyone knows it takes a good team and luck to win the NCAAT......(even Bob Knight said that)

Purdue has had some good teams over the years, which shows with Purdue being a Top all time 20 program......

We just need better luck in the NCAAT to solidify the program like UK, IU, UNC, Duke, etc have done...

I am proud of Purdue and what they have done in history, we just need to get the luck to come with us when we put the next good team on the floor....maybe it will be this year.

I know I will cheer 110% like always and be wishful.....

Boiler Up!
