All-American kicker from Warsaw.
Are we looking at him?
He's undecided right now...

I thought he was headed to South Bend, but nothing shows that.

Unfortunately Purdue has more pressing needs and schollies may get scarce quick

If you can't kick a FG on a consistent basis, that is a problem. Schopper has proven himself but the FG kicking has been pretty below average lately. If Brohm decides to bring another one in, it can't hurt.

If not that guy, maybe we ought to offer that Center Grove kicker who hit 2 50-yarders in the state title game with their season on the line.

Only a sophomore, and going to have much better offers unfortunately seemingly, especially after that game and those two kicks.

Also how many kicks went into the endzone on kick offs this last year?

Coaches are having kickers put the kick higher and shorter now. The 25 yard rule changed how kickoffs are coached

I don't know why. I don't see a huge difference from giving them the 25 yard line compared to the 20 when the benefit is still eliminating the potential for a huge return. If I were the coach and I had a kicker who could kick it through the end zone, I'd do that just about every kick off where field position was my main concern. If an offense can drive 75 yards against the defense they can probably go 80+ most of the time too.

How many teams do you actually have to worry about that? I dont remember a significant number of big returns this year against us. Could have happened, but kick return defense was the least of our concerns.

I'd love to see what the average starting position was on kick returns that weren't touchbacks. I don't think we stopped them inside the 20 very often so my guess is the average couldn't have been too far from the 25 yard line anyway. I guess I see very little advantage to letting them return when one big kick return could ruin the game. Go talk to Michigan about that.

Nice that we could at least put a check in that box!!!!
