Almost a $10,000,000 NIL Deal

BYU ponied up that much to get the rated best HS player in America. A 6'9" player that has the body of Power Forward and the moves of a Guard!
You mean Dybansta? He looks really good on paper and against HS competition. Will be interesting to see how he performs throughout the whole year against guys his same size with quickness, as well as players who are 2-4 years older than him.

Not sure they get close to the return they will give him in NIL, but can’t blame them for trying.

Read the fine print of his nil deal. It was NIKE and another company that ponied up the money, not BYU. he could have chosen any school and received the same NIL deal. He chose BYU because their entire coaching staff has NBA experience and connections. And he saw it as a quick path to the NBA

Plenty of staff in college have NBA experience and connections. He chose it for the money. He leveraged Alabama to up his offer at BYU.

Please provide the “fine print” that you reference. Because Nike signed him to an NIL deal in addition to BYU’s NIL.

Some articles are saying Dybantsa is the best NBA prospect since LeBron. I haven't seen him play, but that's a pretty lofty expectation.

BYU has a very well funded NIL and their primary boosters have a collective net worth in the billions. Schools like BYU are getting players that even a couple of years ago they wouldn't even get an email reply from. The funny thing is that now that payments are above the table, some are calling NIL out of control when players like this are not going to Kansas, UNC, or Duke.

Alabama apparently couldn't compete financially.

I don’t care for professional sports. It’s the end of an era for amateur athletics in the college setting. Can’t believe how far this has gone so fast.

And it's only going to get worse until the league implements some common sense regulations.

I want to see a salary cap and more transparency into player payments. I want to see a system put into place where contracts are signed and honored by both entities. And I want each school to have the ability to execute in-season trades with hard-set deadlines. This is how professional sports work, right?

Absolutely right! Since there is no loyalty from coaches to players, it’s now become all about the money. Why should fans be loyal? Players and coaches move from one school to another with the drop of a hat. I guess people are a fan of the uniform rather than whose in the uniform representing the institution.

Does AJ okay point? Thought it was the 3
From what I’ve read and seen - that is what they want him to develop into that point forward type. Will he be running point 100%? Probably not but he has the handles and certain matchups will dictate this.

His camp made a business decision and BYU made promises.

I’ll be watching when their season ends to see if Kanon hops in the portal.

Yep for sure. He went out to prep school In Utah probably due to the promises BYU made. BYU may not even make the tourney this year…who knows if they will next year. They’ll turnover their team again and have to do a full rebuild.
