I think Nebraska not making the BTT eliminates Williams from being 1st team.

I really don't have a good feel for it this year. But if the OP is correct, that would mean MSU won the conference without any 1st or 2nd team players.

Tex: Has that ever happened before??

Any votes for the most despicable B10 player of the year? My vote goes to Tre Holloman. The kid is a straight up punk. Max Klesmit is a distant second.
Goldin is an embarrassment to basketball. Flops so much…dude is 7 ft 250 and acts like he’s shot in the face any time he hears footsteps. He’s easily number 1.

Agree with Klesmit right behind him.

I like Holloman, he at least backs it up.

I thought the same thing about Holloman when the season was young. But man, lately? He's become quite cocky and an instigator. Did you catch the tussle at the end of the MSU-UM game? Someone needs to punch Holloman in the face.

Maybe Goldin has been watching LeFlop......

Goldin takes it to a new level, IMO.

Has LeBron ever fouled a guy going for a dunk and somehow baited the refs into calling a foul on the guy he just fouled? I'm still pissed about that play, if you haven't noticed.

P.S. In fact that one missed call in the UM game was the difference between us finishing as a 6-seed and a 2-seed. That was the pivotal moment that completely shifted the momentum of that game. If we win in AA, we finish 14-6 and subsequently win the tiebreaker with Maryland to earn a 2-seed in the BTT.

MSU won the league by 3 games. Can't possibly see them getting shut out of the 1st and 2nd team.

D@mn, LeBron... I don't know what was worse: the flop or the dreadful acting.

Don't underestimate that a 4 game skid started there too!

It's a rivalry game. Why wouldn't he feign ignorance? Oh, and Holloman's still a punk.

I have a really hard time seeing Purdue getting two first teamers after being 6th in the conference. Also don't love what that would say about the rest of the roster..

They were tied for 4th. But Purdue has the BTPOTY and the second leading scorer in the conference (Williams was at 20.7 and TKR at 20.5). TKR was also the best big man in the B1G, as well….so I’d say he gets the nod for first team. Unless there was a better big in your opinion?

I'd rather be Purdue with 2 1st team B1G players and tied for 4th than Rutgers with 2 Top 5 NBA Draftees and a losing record.
Maturity counts when you're trying to win in the B1G. Reminds me of how Juan Howard's 2023 Michigan team missed the NCAA Tournament despite having two first round picks plus Hunter Dickinson. They didn't have a losing record, though.

Ha - I was looking at that a little while back, and I don't think so, but then again, something is telling me there maybe was an outlier - Boilerepherine maybe. Certainly not where the champion had a 3-game separation.

Actually, I think Michigan State could have somebody on the second team - there's media and coaches......maybe the coaches do it.

Also, I think Smith just lost out to Ace Baldwin on steals to match Mike Conley's feat of leading in assists and steals.

By 0.1, Tex…and Baldwin played in one less game!

Purdue didn't finish 6th in the conference.
Kind of semantics, but I'll rephrase it to say we are the sixth seed in the big ten tournament if you don't want to count the tie breakers in our big ten ranking.

I would probably put Garcia above him just because I don't think we will have two players there, even if he might deserve it.

You’re going to put a guy who was on the 13th place team above the best big in the B1G?!

Yeah , just watched the Big Ten Network, debating if TKR has a shot at player of the year, he's been that impressive, but his team mate is one of best players in the country, and will probably beat him out (Smith)! Don't bend over to much trying to be politically correct, if the man deserves it, he should get it!

Lots of places have TKR on first team along with Smith. Not sure why that’s hard to wrap one’s head around.

Based on performance this year, who is Purdue’s fourth best player? Where would they rank in the top 100 players in the BT?

I still like this team and think that guys like Myles, Cam, Gicarri and CJ can do some good things in the post season, but there’s a reason this team has two of the top five and probably three of the top 15 players and lost four in a row.

Hmmm…I’d have to say…cox I suppose. But where does he rank in top 100? Probably in the 80-100 range at this point and then Harris, Furst, Colvin and Heide in 100-150 range.

Gets released today. Anthony Leal *should* be on the All-Defensive team. No clue who will win DPOY. Julian Reese comes to mind first. Not really any super standout defensive players this year. I'm assuming Smith will win POY. Jase Richardson for Freshman of the year?

Loyer will probably be Honorable Mention - not sure I'd put him top 15, maybe top 20. 4th best player is probably Cox when you look at total impact, then I'd say it's Furst/Colvin, then Heide/Harris. Harris' stock is on the rise to me.

This team didn't have much margin for error - failed to close out Michigan and Illinois, meltdown @ Indiana, and gave away the Ohio State game - that's enough to take them out of contention. It's the same end result but not the same as getting thoroughly whipped, like at Penn State. They put themselves in position to win a lot - just didn't close well enough.....that shows a higher ceiling than some might think with this group (maybe not this season).....but they definitely have consistent weaknesses, so they would probably need some fortunate match-ups to advance far in the NCAA Tournament. Still leaning #4-seed.

JMHO

Someone posted in another thread that we didn't have a single player with double digit blocks FOR THE SEASON. I had to read that a couple times to let it sink in. Get this group some rim protection and that alone would change a couple of those L's to W's. We'll see if they stay together, but if they do and Daniel can be that guy and maybe a player or 2 from the portal and the ceiling would be very high for us next year.
