Neither would probably want to take the pay cut, but they are both Boiler Alumni.
They are both Sports Agents and obviously know how to evaluate talent. They also probably know every College Football and College Basketball coach in the country. It would certainly help get a get a quality football coach to Purdue. If they have relationships with the coaches, selling Purdue would be easier since the new coach would know his boss already. Just a thought. Parker is 58 and Barnes is 57.
Maybe they want a new challenge before they retire.

Not completely unprecedented. A sports agent took over as president of an MLB team at some point with the last 10 years. Not sure who, or how it worked out, as I don't follow Baseball.
