A *walk on* QB starting in the NC game.

And Brohm got a bunch of sh*t for being so pathetic at recruiting QBs.

Huh.
Fair...to an extent...but, not like they have a starting walk-on Center and RB to go with him. And, Short hears about the matter A LOT as well.

Where did Bennett commit before coming back to Georgia? I forget...it was a decent school I believe, but, obviously not Georgia.

We didn’t start a walk-on center this year

With the collective talent elsewhere, they could have essentially used the Wildcat and not even needed a QB and still would have been one of the top 5 teams in the country.

That said, the Bennett story is a pretty darn good one.

I would still point out that it is not the same as it is made out to be from the standpoint of him as a walk-on...he elected to walk-on in that he had not received a scholarship offer from Georgia coming out of HS, but, he did get an offer in coming back (and, had other D-I offers as well). Regardless, just as is the case with O'Connell, incredibly impressive what he did...it takes a special individual to accomplish what those two guys did/have.

What is probably most impressive (and, all of what he has done is impressive) is that even as a scholarship guy at Georgia, he was at best the 4th guy on the roster at the position, yet, he somehow rose above and managed to be THE guy.

I believe a JUCO.

I believe a JUCO.
He went from Georgia as a walk-on to JUCO because Justin Fields had committed to Georgia, then, ended up getting a scholarship offer from Georgia...after he had committed to Louisiana...because Fields had transferred to Ohio St.
