A new low?

I haven't seen that but I also don't go to the free board. I have heard there have been some comments made to his wife and kids before which is embarrassing as fans and alumni. Whether they are IU graduates or not, you get lumped in with those idiots. People (IU fans included) don't have a filter anymore and say what they think. It is disgusting. Personally, I think he should be fired, and/or he should leave on his own accord. However, I do not think it is right to say anything to his family. Family should be off limits, and if those things I heard are true, it is embarrassing as an alumni. So, I guess I am saying....I do not encourage intimidation for a coaching change. I don't even like booing during games. However, I do express my opinions on if Crean is a capable coach at a high major program. I think he would be fine at a lower tier high major or mid-major program like Marquette, DePaul, etc.

Actually I see your point and concede it was a foolish HS bball cheer. However you must admit that some of the IU posters have made comments to the effect of "well maybe it is a good thing because if Tom's family is uncomfortable he will want to get out sooner." Do you agree they are accepting and even encouraging intimidation to get a coaching change?

I'm sure you don't condone that behavior because you are a rational, educated human being. I think about the predicament that fan bases like Iu and Michigan are in. First you have the grads, who are college educated and normal people for the most part. Then you have the stupid mouthbreathers who love Iu/Mich/ND because their lives suck and they have to attach themselves to a historical winner. I don't think schools like Purdue have that. The Purdue fans are mostly grads or know people who are grads. That doesn't mean that a college grad from any school can't be a jackass, but the risk is much less.

I think Painter is going to duplicate the success of the Baby Boilers, and hopefully we get a shot to have a full strength team play in the tourney this time. And when that happens, will the new generation of scumbags grow up Purdue fans instead of Notre dame or Iu? Probably a topic for another thread. But the short response is I feel your pain of being lumped in.

Sorry for the delay, I had a busy week.
