Just an article, one guys opinion, but Biggie is listed as 5th in the POY race as of today. Thought it was interesting enough to share here, and he gives a little paragraph about Biggie:

5. Caleb Swanigan, Purdue: Swanigan’s Boilermakers lost on Sunday afternoon, falling to Minnesota in overtime at home, but Biggie was as good as he’s been at any point this season. He had 28 points and 22 boards against the Gophers, his fourth 20-20 games of the season. He’s had a double-double in 13 of 15 games this season and hasn’t had less than eight boards in any game. He’s currently averaging 18.1 points and 13.0 boards, the latter of which is second-nationally.

Also interesting that the only other B1G player mentioned out of 20+ names (including the "just missed out") was Trimble. Swanigan is definitely a special talent. Hopefully the rest of the team can step up and make this a special year, because I am confident Biggie will continue to be fantastic this season.

This season eerily reminds me of the Big Dog's last season. Meaning had he stayed one more year, then a deep run very well might have happened.

I see similar things happening now where one more year (based on the talent we have now and coming in) could be something historic.

Now I am NOT ruling out a deep run this year, I am just pointing out some similarities.

When one of the top 5 players in the nation (based on the above article) sticks around another year, no doubt it would be huge, especially given that we lose very little and get in some pieces in 2017. To your point, Big Dog was unstoppable as a Junior until he hurt his back. We might have went undefeated had he come back one more year.

Saw on twitter today that Chad Ford's latest mock draft didn't have Caleb in it.

how can he not be on the list?

Couldn't see the list. There was a link in the tweet but it was to an ESPN Insider article. It was specifically mentioned in the tweet by one of the Indy Star guys that Swanigan wasn't in it though.

IU's OG Anunoby is listed as 12th. Sorry but he hasn't been consistent at all and I don't see him being a first round pick THIS YEAR. He will play another year for IU. Swanigan, if he continues being as productive as he has been, will be drafted this year in the first two rounds.
