I've always thought A.J. Hammons resembles all-time Pacers great and Hall of Famer Mel Daniels. Sadly, Daniels now has passed away at age 71. He was the ABA rookie of the year for 1967-1968 and played center alongside the late great Roger Brown, plus Bob Netolicky, George McGinnis, Freddie Lewis and our own Billy Keller on the Pacers' run of ABA champions (1970, 1972, 1973). The 6-9 Daniels was ABA MVP in 1969 and 1971 and averaged 18 points and 15 rebounds for his 10-year career.
