Makes winning your conference mean something, which it should. You want the first-round bye, win your conference, not that it helped Oregon.

No, they deserved to be being a conference champion. That's different than being able to win a national championship.

Seed them regardless less of winning a conference. And while I’m on this let’s eliminate the conference championship and start the playoffs earlier

Football just isn't for determining a national championship but also determining conference championships.

the top 4 seeds go the the top ranked conference champions (automatic bids). The rest are lower ranked conference champions or at large bids. I think it's fine for now. You'd want the top 5 conference champions in the mix. Penn State was heavily favored to win the game and should have been salivating with the draw they got - especially compared to ND's bracket.

I guess there's an argument if the Mountain West was higher ranked than the ACC, but I think the ACC's bowl results spoke for that.

Boise needs to play an extremely tough ooc schedule for them to ever be considered for a bye again. Maybe for them to even get in the playoffs at all.
