1) Currie is squarely on the hot seat. If your AD is gone, what says the next person will want to work with you?

Numbers 2) and 3) together: SEC must have success now, not later.
2) Bielema fired the exact same day Wisconsin earns their way into the playoff spot. Isn't that a double kick in the balls?! Bielema left Wisconsin because he wanted a quicker path to a National Championship. Scroll down and see the Arkansas Public Relations notice.

3) Kevin Sumlin Fired at A&M for 51-26 record. A winning percentage near 70% gets you fired in the SEC with constant nagging about a National Championship not just win the SEC title annually. That is delusional.

Pay the coach and his staff at compensation levels that are competitive nationally with incentives.
He could easily get 10 years at Purdue should he want it.
At Purdue there will be expectations of improvement, but to think that Big Ten Title and (gasp) National Title should be expectations is beyond a far stretch and whomever thinks that would need to put the crack pipe down! We are barely at the foot of the mountain needing to achieve the first base camp before getting to that thin air.

There was a time when the possibility of a national championship wasn't so far fetched for Purdue football, albeit they were never "expected." And I agree, going forward, it should never be expected, but it should be a goal for the future, ambitious as that might be.

Fourth Reason:

Purdue is in a good division. It's not that hard to win the west. You just have to beat Wisconsin. That's tough, but not as tough as having to be better than Florida AND Georgia.

If the goal is to position yourself in the best place to reach the playoff, I think Purdue has better odds than Tennessee coming out of the SEC.

Aside:
How many times would Purdue have won the current B10 west under Tiller? I'm thinking 97,00,03 for sure, and maybe 98

Not a Purdue guy, but someone would have to be crazy to go to Tennessee. Such a toxic place, with fans and politicians now calling the shots.
