A lot depends who Purdue can get in the portalfor Walters it had : make a bowl game, said Brohm didn't exactly leave the cupboard bare
I dont think so. This was always going to be a “transition” year with a tough schedule and new players at QB, CB and other key positions. I’d agree the cupboard isn’t bare. Good RB, good TE, experienced WRs…Doubtful...
Johnson was the only DL that I thought would get drafted.I dont think so. This was always going to be a “transition” year with a tough schedule and new players at QB, CB and other key positions. I’d agree the cupboard isn’t bare. Good RB, good TE, experienced WRs…
If we can play decent defense we should win 6.
All of the DL who are leaving to the portal I had assumed were leaving for the draft.
Didn’t mean the kids wouldn’t leave to try. I actually think Sullivan is a good fit at DE in a 3-4Johnson was the only DL that I thought would get drafted.

as I've mentioned before, his 19 was really good but only half are left on the team.Brohm had 3-4 very good recruiting classes. Where are all these great players he recruited? Surely they are still here. Just because they didn’t start doesn’t mean we don’t have talent.
And if the cupboard is bare that would mean all those recruiting classes were never that great to begin with.
So what you’re saying is the ranking of his other recruiting classes was a bit overrated. And we shouldn’t have judged the future of Purdue football based solely on the ranking of a recruiting class?as I've mentioned before, his 19 was really good but only half are left on the team.
LB has been a glaring need.DL should be fine. QB, WR, and RB should be solid. Secondary does not look good but hopefully Walters can fill that in with portal pickups. Hopefully adding Card can get a good TE and OL in portal as well.
I will say…it seems like a need but if we still have Graham, Brothers and Whalberg around next year we’ll be OK…just need depth behind itLB has been a glaring need.
Graham is gone.I will say…it seems like a need but if we still have Graham, Brothers and Whalberg around next year we’ll be OK…just need depth behind it

You hit it on the head. His recruiting classes were not deep and it shows. He had to get while the getting was good.Brohm had 3-4 very good recruiting classes. The ranking were not overrated. We only had a single class in the top 25 and with transfers as someone else said only half remains. Brohms classes were solid to good most years. Having said that even if we had top 25 classes every single year we are not likely beating Michigan, Ohio St, or perhaps even Wisconsin. So we have 9 winnable games and most of those are coin flip type games. 6 wins will be a good year.So what you’re saying is the ranking of his other recruiting classes was a bit overrated. And we shouldn’t have judged the future of Purdue football based solely on the ranking of a recruiting class?
Gosh people here thought because Brohm’s recruiting classes were so awesome we’d surely become a top 25 team. I guess they got too excited and were not being realistic and that many other factors come into play that affect the future of a team besides the ranking of a recruiting class.
Is it possible our recruiting class was just a tad over inflated because all of our high ranked players played the same position as our other highly ranked players? I guess instead of always adding a 4 star qb, we should have been adding a 4 star player at other positions?
A total shocker
