2026 Purdue Target, 4-Star Prospect Reportedly Schedules Official Visit For June

Why does their offer have to have anything to do with Purdue? Can't they offer whoever they want? Sometimes the obsession goes too far here.
Its 95% all SEC/southern school recruiting, except for Purdue, Cal. Strange for iu to be included. imo/

Virginia Tech, Missouri, Xavier, Cincinnati, Wichita State, Cal.

Mostly SEC/Southern schools because he's from Georgia.

We have way too many offers out IMO. I haven't seen one of my favorite offers on here. Darius Wabbington 6'11 top 20 player 2027 who says all the right things about Purdue and Coach Brantley not so much about Zach but TKR. LOL! he told me I needed to be on Insta Gram. Good kid still growing. PJ and coach B lead recruiters. Side note due to the lack of recent success I wouldn't expect IU to win many recruiting wars. Personally, I hope IU becomes a contender because we play them twice per year. Other than FBI sting against Kenny Payne I haven't seen a brand name from any IU coaches. IMO it's going to take a while for them to claw out of the middle of the pack. Top 4 teams to watch is UCLA, Michigan, Oregon and Purdue. After them you have MSU, USC, Illinois, Washington and Ohio St. All of them have deep pockets and a desire to win. A no named coach in today's crazy environment isn't a winning formula.

Sounds like the wing forward everyone wants. Get on him, Sasha.
He's actually who the thread was started about 😂 . We had offered last year to him
and he has an official visit scheduled this month! The original article does say he was ranked 70th in 2026…and he’s listed as a guard 😮 teammate of another guard we have targeted (but in 2027 ha) Kevin Savage (4 star).

This begs the question do you recruit a player because he will be a good fit and serve a certain purpose? Or do you recruit a player because of his talent and star potential?

This seems to be a big difference between Painter and the old IU and UK teams. Painter always recruits players that fill certain roles. Uk and IU just recruit as many 5 stars as they can find and hope it all works out.

Every so often like with Swanigan, painter finds a 5 star talent willing to accept a role and become a team player rather than just be a star. He was a rare find.

With Purdue’s recent success, painter has started recruiting higher ranked players. It’s my hope he signs some of these players And that they become as good as the 3 stars painter recruited that led to our current success.

I’ve often wondered how awesome it would be If Purdue signed a couple of 5 stars players and they were coached and developed by painter and his staff. As good as Joe Barry Carroll was, I have to believe he would have even been better if Painter had coached him.

Painter has a proven record for developing both big men and guards! Maybe Mayer or Ertel will be that next star. Or maybe Jacobsen.

I expect big things from Cluff. But rather than being a star, I believe he will make others around him better while he just does his thing. I see him as a perfect fit. He doesn’t have to be fast, he just needs to be in place.

I’d still love to see a true small forward play the 3 at Purdue. It may happen someday. Maybe Landrew is that player.
