Alot of good names out there but who do we really have a chance with?
I would be really happy with Cumberland, Simpson and Ward as the class but who knows now with the way those guys been play lately, hopefully still have chance to impress!
Who would you guys prefer in the class?

I think it is still wide open with Ward, Brunk, Simpson, Cumberland, Rakocevic, Benson, Towns, Cook and Wright.........

My preference would be one of the following pairings:

1) Ward/Cumberland/Simpson= Ohio connection
or
2) Brunk/Simpson/Cumberland

My predictions on others if they don't pick Purdue:
I think Cook is a Iowa St. or Iowa guy
I think Benson is going to Ill, DePaul, Georgetown or Kansas St.
I think Rakocevic is Northwestern or Marquette bound
I think Towns is a wild card...could go Blue Blood or could go Xavier or Cincy or O$U (I will guess O$U)
I think Wright would be a great fit at Purdue but I could see him going West Virginia or Wake Forest


Important class for Purdue....well they all are.....and I see CMP doing well.

Brunk is close with Weatherford and Cline......

I think our success in Ohio continues and we get at least 2 of the 4 Ohio players we want (Ward,Simpson,Towns/Cumberland).

*Note: Also keep an eye out for a new up an comer that should move up to a 4star soon out of East Chicago Damien Jefferson 6ft 4in SG/SF.

Lot's of fluid pieces...but Purdue should do well!

From everything I have seen and read, Nick Ward seems to be our option A (tons of big time offers now), with Brunk close behind. Would love to have both big's in that class to go along with Taylor and Haas. It seems X Simpson is also on the verge of blowing up in his recruiting.

Not sure how reliable 247 sports is but I just recently look at Ward's recruiting page and it does not look good for us. Not sure how accurate their recruiting page is but they have OSU and MSU as warm for recruiting and everyone else as cool. They are already predicting 85% chance he ends up at OSU. Not saying Painter should give up on him, Painter had been recruiting him for a long time, but I wouldn't get to excited about him ending up at purdue. He looks to be really solid and just had a monster weekend, would be a great pick up.

Benson, Cumberland, and Simpson would be a great class! Replace Benson with Ward and we will be in a very good situation.

Knowing O$U and M$U are pretty full with bigs the next few years, I think we stand a good chance with Ward and Cumberland unless the big schools come calling. Ward has already visited a few times which is a plus but you never know with kids these days, hard to find loyalty anymore.
Haven't heard much about Benson lately? Are we still recruiting him hard or moved to the Ohio boys?

Heck if this is a wish list I would take Rodney Miller the 6-11 center we and a lot of others are recruiting over Brunk. But realistically, I would be happy with 2 of 4 you list!

What is the story on this kid? 6'1" but seems to be solid built. Seems athletic enough. Like the use of both hands. Obvious PU ties with the father.

I think Purdue is still recruiting Nai Carlisle....With the above list that is a lot of kids. Add to that the kid from Kokomo who would be a transfer as a possible to take a ride....a lot of kids for 3 slots. I am sure there will be 1-2 additional late bloomers Purdue gets interested in this spring/summer.

If the Kokomo kid can't play this year, I would pass on him. I like Brunk and think he would be a good add. Cumberland and Ward would make a super class.

As Dumpster indicated, Purdue has four slots as of the moment. Aside from looking at their class rankings, I really don't know enough to prefer 1 over the others, but Purdue could use a point guard, a versatile scoring wing, and two bigs including a true center.

If Persons is offered and takes the point guard slot, that's fine with me. I like that he brings proven experience, even if at a lower level.

It sounds like Ward is about to blow up, which is both good and bad, depending on how you look at it.

It sounds like Cumberland is just a well rounded scorer, which would be really nice to have on the roster.

thank for the link. it's hard to judge a player just from a highlight video, but from what i see, I like (for some of the same reasons). athletic, strong, potential to create for others, seems to have nice form on his jumper. i think with his potential athleticism, he could work hard and be a solid defender as well.

Why do you think Walker is another RJ? Maybe he is another Trice(MSU)? Just because he decided (whether wrong or right) Painter's tempo of play sucks does not mean he is another RJ.

MSU recruiting at a high level may not be all bad for Purdue. The more that Izzo goes national, for example, the less often he goes head to head with Purdue. In the case of the Ward commitment, I think it might help Purdue's chances of getting Brunk, which even yesterday seemed far more likely than landing Ward.

We can only hope! To much talent in this class to miss out on and piss it away with a bunch of low rated kids to fill the roster. Got to recruit good to stay good.

Izzo will always recruit the top guys from Indiana and Ohio, which is the killer! Hard to beat out a coach with all the luck/ success he has had in the tournament.

to me Izzo is just a better coach, that includes recruiting, working the refs, game situations, whatever you want to add in there, not saying Painter is a bad coach just saying Izzo is better, just what I see and evidently a lot of recruits

You defiantly got working the refs right, dude really knows how to bitch and cry to the refs! Can't stand it but don't get me wrong he is a good coach tho.

A wish list is what it is ........in the B1G we should know in reality Izzo & Matta get first choice of the midwest, then Crean takes the idiots that tolerate his act, then Behlien gets his slice of the pie......... and then the rest of the pretenders with no recruiting game can fight over what is left.....

If you can't win in recruiting, you lose games before they begin.
