20%?

Racism is why they had to include those items on applications in the first place.
Do you find it racist and sexist that Biden never considered hiring a man for the VP job, and then after GF, eliminated all white women?

You really have the audacity to say you speak for most black people? Are you kidding? What a narcissistic asshole.

BNI thinks he speaks for most black people (except the ones who don't think like him. In which case, they're just Gumbos and Sambos and hate being black, so they don't count).

That's why they need to be eliminated.

So, BNI is now talking out both sides of his mouth.
He wants equal treatment for blacks (which we can all agree with) but then he wants race to be taken into consideration for employment, college admissions, etc.
Which is it BNI?
Some would call that the subtle bigotry of low expectations.

I think most would agree there was a time/need for special treatment for minorities.
IMO that time has passed. We had an African American as POTUS and a Woman that, if not for a lousy candidate, would have been POTUS.

Hell yeah we still need to consider race. Particularly when you got the rich and famous still paying SAT rest takers and bogus sport scholarships to get their dumbass kids into college.

Should there be different standards for black kids than white kids to get into college?
Are the expectations different for black kids?
What about Asian kids? Indian kids?

Why?

If you take race off the application, aren't you determining everyone's admission based on the same qualifications?

How does skin color have anything to do with it?

Nope, there should not be any different standards and there aren't any different standards.

You can't take race off of admission applications because you will not have diversity in colleges. Then you are back to square one. That is the number one reason why we have historically black colleges and universities, HBCU's because blacks could not get into the mainstream colleges. This is also why we have catholic universities like Notre Dame, Georgetown, Boston College to name a few. The Catholics were also discriminated against when it came to college admissions.

Are you saying black kids aren't as good of students as white kids?

Now you are putting words in my mouth. I said that these colleges won’t have diversity if race is not put on the applications.

Why would they lack diversity?
If the schools are granting admission on the same criteria for every applicant (academics, test scores, extra-curricular activities, leadership, etc), regardless of race, why would there be a difference between the races?

If 100 kids apply, 50 black and 50 white (but race is blinded to the admissions people), do you expect more of the white kids to get admitted? If so, why?

This is a serious question: Do they ask for gender on applications? Are there more than 2 options for gender?

If colleges provide different admission criteria for blacks than for whites, what's to prevent a white person from checking the box that says "Black" on the application so that they're held to a different criteria and are able to increase their likelihood of getting admission?
