2 Potential recruits for 2016....

Rather have what we have and do it right than be a cheat like UNC, Duke and Kentucky......at the end of the day I have my character and so does my school......

Again we differ Nag which is fine we all need to have opinions....I am a realist.

I would rather stay the course and break thru sometime doing it the right way than go after one and done's or create mythical classes to get sketchy kids who will walk away with the same Purdue degree I have but didn't earn it.

No Thanks.....I would rather not win any Final Fours if we have to cheat or compromise......I will take the steady, blue collar, hard working kids who believe in Family and especially Purdue.

Never sell out like some people on here......

Again I will always be positive.....and a realist.

Boiler Up!

I never stated anything about Purdue hoops having to cheat or compromise to get high-quality players each year. It's more a matter of thinking outside the box and not believing that all the prospects and recruits have to be from a certain area, have Purdue ties, look and act a certain way, things of that nature. That's not the case and it seems like some people almost believe that this has to be the way it is at Purdue.

They don't all have to be instant impact players. IMO, Bane is one that looks like he can develop into one. He looks like he has the necessary tools. The only thing I wonder about is his overall athleticism. His jumper looks like it has a low-release point to it but it's not a jumper that's impossible to fix.

Can someone really develop into an "instant" impact player?

I don't think you're understanding what you're reading.

Bane could become an impact player. I also stated that not everyone has to be an instant impact player, hence the hypothetical of Bane developing into one, as opposed to being one immediately.

Does Bane ooze some type of Purdue-pheromone? If the coaches were really after him, 90% of this board would be calling to fire them. Why is he so very, very special to people here and not to major coaches? I'm lost ....

So we shouldn't try to develop guys like Stanback or Davis......they aren't impact.......but we should with Bane. Got it.
Maybe you can have Bane's lovechild?

Answer this: Do you really believe that Jeremiah Davis (being granted a 6th season of eligibility after underwhelming seasons at Cincinnati and Ball State) or Justus Stanback are better players to offer a scholly to than Desmond Bane?

I don't know. I don't Google or Youtube all these recruits like you apparently do. At the end of the day, it doesn't mean a damn thing what you or I think about these guys. The staff will base their decisions on the information they have, which is infinitely more than you have. I will let them do their job and trust they know more than I do. Personally, it's a waste of my time to research all these guys but to each his own. I'm certainly not going to argue about players with you.

What I do know is that you contradicted yourself and are in full backpedal mode. You have locked onto Bane, like you always do with a recruit, and will continue to talk about him ad nauseam. If we don't don't take him you will piss and moan.

Anybody else but Bane needs to be impact but it's ok to take Bane cause you think he will develop. That's what your posts say, no matter how much you want to deflect.

Bane would be a freshman, and in a perfect scenario, I would like to see them add at least two grad transfers of impact and at least one frosh. He fits that scenario to me. I'm sorry that it bothers you (well, not really) when I'm enthusiastic about a recruit. It's called being passionate about the program and the things that transpire within it. If my posting style bothers you, then it bothers you. No one's opinions are going to be liked by everyone. If they were, something would probably be wrong (i.e. cult).

I was told that, but then I saw G&B tweet that Bane was one of "today's #Purdue visitors" (yesterday), so I didn't know if he had visited in morn and then cut out for ATL, or what.

BTW - I asked the person that told me that info this question; Why would he bail on an individual workout for PU at PU, in favor of another AAU game? Seems to me his priority would be working out for PU and trying to get that scholie...right??

He missed the workout at PU to travel with his AAU team to Atlanta for the Adidas tournament. Maybe that's a factor.

This is OT in regards to his standing with Purdue but I was always under the impression that players were not allowed to participate in AAU after their senior year of high school. Is there some special circumstance in Bane's case that allows him this opportunity?

I don't know the specifics of Bane, but AAU is age-defined teams, not grade level
