It’s either Smith with the ball dribbling around hunting a shot or trying to get it to TRK or it’s get it to TKR and everyone else get out of the way.
We just don’t have enough options of guys who can attack and create problems for the other team.
Plenty of shooters, very few scorers.

TKR is talented but he doesn't draw the attention of Edey to open up other players. So playing through him puts a lot of pressure on him and stagnates the offense because there's no movement.

Edeys presence moved defenses. TKR can't do that (who could?).

It's clear how lost we are without TKR on the court because our offense goes to shit when
they have to run motion without him and devolves to Smith making something happen. Furst has no offensive game except rebounding and I don't understand. He used to shoot threes. What happened?

We do have others, they just don’t. Really I think we need to get the ball out of Braden’s hands a little more and let Harris run the offense some. Right now the offense is Braden dribbling around until he can get the ball to Tre. We no longer run a motion offense where we are screening for Loyer and cox. Instead they are standing on the wing not moving. An even bigger problem though is the defense. DEFENSE NO LONGER LIVES HERE. CMP is a great defensive coach. He needs to get these guys back to the basics of keeping your man in front of you and boxing out. Last in the nation in 2 pt fg% is not acceptable.

They just seem flat footed to me on defense. I have been specifically watching it the last few games and time and again our players start in position and then simply seem to react late to first steps/moves. Every guy's man is past his shoulder on the first step and they're immediately on the side then too often behind.

I'm also seeing a lot of players being sucked down into the paint on the weak side leaving players wide open from three on the pass. It's like holes in a dike. We plug one and the others leak.

Furst, Cox and Loyer were a combined 1 for 11 last night with only 9 pts.
We took 65 FGA's while UM had only 58....but we shot a poor 34%.
We had 11 assists while UM had 25.
Some of the reasons we lost were lack of ball movement early in the possessions and a slow, predictable 1/2 court offense.
We have athletes but the team needs to run.
Harris' end to end bucket was a thing of beauty.

Kinda strange to have that problem with a team that went to the FF last season, from a Power-5 Conf, and from a basketball crazy state/program.

So, who else besides smith has shown the ability to create or dribble drive?
In the tourney, teams will probably try to take away Smith, let TKR get his and make someone else create on offense.

The games when we are cooking is everyone is involved. Blame can be passed around to TKR for unwillingness to pass out of the post. Braden for not initiating for others. Painter and staff for not running more action to try to get something for other people.

If we have our motion running - we can get to an E8 or F4 easily. If we don’t, we will be the most popular upset pick for first round games

I agree on the upset pick but I don’t think this team is built for a FF run.
