2/10/17

Honestly, I could give a **** about MSU until about 2/8/18. Come back then.

I watched some of the MSU-Duke game. I didn't see it all, so my impressions might be wrong. What I saw was Grayson Allen and the other Duke guards raining baskets over some slow MSU backcourt defenders. Yes, MSU's front line looked good, but they were not dominating Duke's. They were keeping MSU in the game, but they were playing from behind most of the time I watched.

It probably will determine the champion. Once again, it's too bad that the schedule is so imbalanced that they don't come to Mackey.

Mich St is loaded with talent. Bridges is just unbelievable. Well coached to boot. Last year was a bummer for you with all the injuries (which we know about as well). Hopefully, we all can stay injury free and it should be a great game.

I like how our pre-season schedule is loaded because we will be challenged and probably lose a few. However, we'll be better for it. I hope it follows those MSU teams that had brutal pre-season schedules and ended up with a lot of NCAA tourney success because of it.

An 18 game conference schedule in a 14 team league completely sucks. The schedule becomes a huge factor in the B1G regular season race, which can spoil it, depending upon circumstances. You have 13 opponents, yet you only play five (!!) of them home-and-home. I know we're moving to a 20 game schedule next year, but that only improves things marginally, IMO. It still leaves you playing six of your 13 conference foes only one time, and who those six teams are and where you play them could be a huge advantage or disadvantage.

It really has diminished the value of the regular season championship. Of course, everybody still wants to win it, and it's great when you do. But if a team wins the league by, say, one game over a team who had a tougher schedule and maybe even won the single head-to-head game that was played, you could certainly make an argument against the legitimacy of it.

The schools have no control over it, and you play the games the conference tells you to play, but it's certainly an unfortunate byproduct of conference expansion. The ship has sailed though, because I don't see the B1G ever moving to a 26 game conference schedule!

It could, you're right, though after the trip to EL, we go to Madison five days later, and then finish the year at home against Minnesota a couple weeks after that. Don't sleep on Goldy. They looked tough at Providence on Monday night.

I didn't watch all of the MSU/Duke game last night, but caught most of the first half. Izzo's front court is a force, no question. Bridges is an All-American and JJJ could be a lottery pick before all is said and done. Throw Nick Ward in there and that's a pretty fierce 3 through 5. But what do you think about your backcourt? Good enough to get you back to the Final Four?

Huge game for Sparty's Sophomore and Frosh-led team...just another game for Purdue's Senior-led team...and, therein, lies the difference between the two teams.
BTFU.

Go to the MSU site and say this......normal reception by PU fans IMO. Dude can take that shit somewhere else.

Seniors and guard play will decide it so edge Purdue. It's at East Lansing so we will have to deal with Izzo crying and the homer ref calls. Too bad they aren't coming to Mackey.

It's nice to win a lot of games before the Big Ten Tournament but because not getting two Play Everybody twice me personally I only count the Big Ten Tournament on who is determined to be the Big Ten Championship

Once again, well said “Boilerman”.
