The 15 Boilermakers on rosters/practice squads is tied for 55th overall & 2 more than last year at this time. Drew Brees, Kawann Short & Austin Larkin are gone from opening day rosters last year. Jordan Roos, Rondale Moore, Derrick Barnes, Tyler Coyle & Grant Hermanns are on rosters/practice squads this year & were not at this time last year. Purdue was dead last in the B1G in NFL players right before the draft, but has now climbed to a tie for 9th due to more of their players sticking than the likes of Indiana, Rutgers & Northwestern players.

Iowa continues to be the surprise here IMO. Not many would guess that Iowa has as many NFL players as Georgia & more than Clemson & Oklahoma. Purdue overall best since 2001 has been before the 2006 season when they had 27 former players on NFL rosters & practice squads. That was 19th overall & more than Alabama, Clemson, & Oregon.
Every FBS program has at least 1 guy on an NFL roster (New Mexico State & Kent State have just 1). Even UConn has 6. North Dakota State leads FCS schools with 9.
