I have seen a lot of TripAdvisor opinions of whether to get private guides or use the National Park Service guides for hikes. Any Purdue fan opinions would be welcome.

As a side note, the wife and I are of good enough health and walk regularly 2 miles ~ 4 to 5 times per week.

Can't help you with the Hiking, we just hiked solo. Where do you plan on hiking? I've been a couple times, both in June though. Which way are you coming from? If you get a chance to do Tioga Pass do it lol. Beautiful the whole park is, Glacier point is splendid as well.
