Good Morning & Welcome to this week's rendition of the Weekly Upload.

I really appreciate you guys reading this week in and week out. I compile information all week and it turns into quite a little project on a Google Doc before posting it here. This week focuses on the big junior day that Coach Walters is hosting, I have 34 visitors coming, a 5-Star Prospect will be in attendance Sunday, Purdue winning #25 and the women's team is squarely on the bubble for the NCAAT.

Full disclosure, the message board will only allow me to put so many profile previews on here, so many will appear as links that you will have to click for their profiles.

Big Weekend for Football

By my count, Purdue will have 34 visitors here this weekend. Coach Walters and his staff have hit the midwest pretty hard, there will be plenty of visitors from Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, and Michigan.

Here is a quick breakdown by state:

Indiana:

Of that group, keep an eye on Jordan King and Jo’Ziah Edmond. These two are making a return trip to Purdue this weekend, both are heavy Purdue leans, it seems. Johnson, Graham, and Tuggle are all high-profile wide receivers that Coach Walters is trying to keep in-state, don’t expect that trio to commit anywhere anytime soon. Eugene Hilton was a late addition for this weekend, yes that is T.Y.’s son.

Update.. Tuggle is at Texas A&M this weekend.

Ohio

Bryce West and Tayvion Galloway are the two big fish out of Ohio that are expected to be at Purdue this weekend. Galloway is currently a verbal to LSU, and West is a 4* Corner who seems to be an Ohio State lean - he is being recruited by everyone.

Missouri

This group of five players is all from the same high school in St. Louis. They are also all class of 2025, so they are sophomores in high school currently. They attend Cardinal Ritter in St. Louis, Coach Patterson is using his Missouri connections to get this group here. Jamarrion Parker is the big fish, he is a 4* RB.

Illinois

Michigan

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2024/gabe-vansickle-297425

Davis-Swain is a 4-star defensive end, and Purdue is swinging for the fences with some of the defensive end prospects, as they are vital to the success of the new scheme.

Kentucky

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2024/demeco-kennedy-291337

Purdue is dipping into Brohm Land in pursuit of an offensive lineman.

Texas

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2024/marcos-davila-269018

Purdue is in hot pursuit of 4* QB, Marcos Davila. He was a TCU commit up until early last week, he and Harrell have a pretty close relationship, dating back to Harrell being at WVU. These are unofficial visits this weekend, so it is a pay-your-way to get here, traveling from Texas is not a cheap trip. Keep an eye on these three.

Tennessee

Overall…

Purdue is casting a wide net for recruiting, as I have previously mentioned, much larger than the previous staff. The midwest appears to be vital to the new staff. Aside from the five players coming from St. Louis, the rest of the field are class of 2024. That group are 2025 prospects.

Jace posted a more in-depth story on the visitors this morning:

If you haven’t checked it out, I posted a Google Maps Link earlier this week, tracking the players that are visiting this weekend, their locations are pinned to their High Schools, if you click their names it will bring up a link to their Rivals profiles.

Google Maps Edition - Weekend Visitors

Purdue Basketball Wins Outright Championship

Before the end of the game, Purdue was outright Big Ten Champions. The first Big Ten team to get to number 25 and this year, it was an outright championship. Of Purdue’s 25 championships, 13 have been outright and 12 have been shared.

Purdue was cruising along for the majority of the Big Ten season, but hit some turbulence during the month of February, while some teams, like Northwestern, got hot. In the end, though Purdue did their job, winning the title.

I know some of us are a little worried about the basketball team right now, the past five weeks have been anything but pretty, but to put this season into perspective.

Matt Painter replaced 4 starters from a top 10 team last year, they came into the season unranked and surged to #1, spending a program record seven weeks as the #1 team in the nation, have the potential national player of the year and spent the season atop the Big Ten Standings.

It has been a good year.

Sunday Visitor for Home Finale

2025 top 10 prospect, Jalen Harelson will be in Mackey Arena for the regular season finale. He was scheduled to come last week for the Indiana game, but Fishers Girl's Basketball Team played in the state Championship Game, and he went to support them.

The sophomore forward is currently averaging 23 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, and 4 assists per game.

Womens Bracketology

The women made a huge comeback last night against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament. If they would have lost that game, there was a chance they could have slid into the NIT.

But alas, they would win 57 to 55, moving on in the BTT.

ESPN’s Bracketology has them listed as the “Last Four Byes”, currently listed as 10 seed.

They will play the #7 Iowa Hawkeyes and the best player in the nation, in Caitlin Clark tonight at 6:30 PM. If they upset Iowa, they will be a lock for the tournament.

Everyone, have a great weekend & Boiler Up.
