The travel issue with USC and UCLA is their issue, not the rest of the B1G

Football and basketball, you add 1 road trip a year perhaps to LA. Flight time from WL to Lincoln or NYC is 1.5 hours. It's 4 hours to LA.

In looking at our other sports:
Cross Country - all meets on Friday or Saturday. Perhaps 1 extra overnight per season if we go west coast.
Men's Golf was playing a bunch of Sunday - Tuesday tournaments: Marquette, No. Illinois, Puerto Rico, Charleston, Iowa. Not much change there, perhaps 1 LA swing and 1 more overnight per season.
Soccer - we played away weekday games this year at UK, KU (made a weekend with KSU), Iowa, Minny. Perhaps add 1 extra trip west, maybe 1 missed school day.
Softball - Almost all weekend trips to play 3-5 games. Perhaps add 1 west coast trip maybe 1 additional day of missed school
Swimming and diving - appears mainly weekend matches with multiple teams - again add 1 west coast trip and probably 1 extra day of missed school.
Tennis - mainly weekend matches - again add 1 west coast trip and probably 1 extra day of missed school.
Track - appears all Friday/Saturday events - again 1 west coast trip and 1 extra day missed school.
Volleyball - similar to basketball type schedule. Add a west coast trip of a Friday/Sunday match, 1 or 2 extra days of missed school.
Wrestling - almost all weekend meets. (And they don't have wrestling).

In the end, Purdue has the fewest sports, but at Purdue, our teams will probably only miss 1 maybe 2 more days of school than normal (and those might be negated by switching around the schedule for travel we currently have).

USC and UCLA will have to deal with the travel issues, but again they are more used to flights than our teams. I imagine where we probably bus our non revenue sports to IU/IL/NW/Wiscy (and maybe UM/MSU/OSU) they probably take flights on all their trips but cross town. The closest teams to LA are ASU and the bay schools at 5.5 hours. (IU/IL/NW/Wiscy/UM/MSU/OSU are all closer). I think the arguments about college kids missing class is way overblown.
