“Due to a combination of COVID-19 related circumstances, opt-outs and injuries, the Vanderbilt women's basketball program has elected not to continue the remainder of the 2020-21 season.”

Stephanie’s team has not done well under her coaching. However this year their record was 4-4 although they have lost their last 3 in a row. And they have had 6 games canceled or postponed. Stephanie deserved better.

I fear we may see alot more of this in the upcoming weeks from both men and women's teams as teams either get hit by Covid or play themselves into a situation where making the tournament is unlikely and conclude it's no longer worth playing.

Her coaching record at Vandy is 46-83. Dismal SEC mark.

There are many (and valid) complaints here about Purdue seemingly no longer really caring about the WBB program, but, the same could be said about Vanderbilt...another program that once had a proud history and was nationally relevant.

The money spent on changes in the MBB and Football programs likely have benefited Stephanie in terms of allowing her to remain.

Vanderbilt collects big bucks from SEC and supports one good program in baseball.

Nebraska has, I believe, 5 games at this point to make up...that is going to be tough to do with the season calendar growing shorter...and, at some point, it does not even become practical to do...they may very well be one to make that same decision where it is not worth playing...there are others no doubt as well around the country.
