• LEO Kydran Jenkins has a knee injury and could be out a week or so. Still, expect Jenkins to do all he can to get on the field ASAP. He is a player who always does all he can to play. Jenkins was warming up on the sideline after halftime last week after being helped off the field in the first half and was believed to have wanted to play ... but was held out. Warrior.

• CB Cory Trice is thought to have a groin/hip flexor injury, while CB Jamari Brown has an ankle injury. Each were to have MRIs on Monday. May find out more about prognosis today after practice.

• The secondary is almost running on empty. RS freshman CB Brandon Calloway has been out a few weeks with an ankle injury suffered in practice.

• We all know it wasn't a good game for S Cam Allen last week. Lemme say this: It wouldn't be a shock if he no longer starts. It's believed Bryce Hampton could take over and start alongside Sanoussi Kane at safety. I don't believe Ryan Brandt and Antonio Stevens are viewed as legit options to play extended snaps at safety.

• Wouldn't be surprised if Hampton also is asked to play some CB. Same goes for Kane, who started at the spot--and did well--in the Music City Bowl last season.

• FB Ben Furtney has a high ankle sprain; might be out a while. This would hurt, as his blocking has been key.

• RB Dylan Downing back for the Iowa? Maybe. Have to wait and see. He is recovering from an ankle/foot injury and has been practicing.

• WR Broc Thompson could be back for Iowa, but it may be a long shot. He'll have to show he's ready after having knee surgery. Doesn't seem like his return for Iowa is a slam dunk. Thompson supposedly has started to run in a controlled environment recently. Stay tuned.

• TE Paul Piferi hurt his shoulder in last game. Status TBD.

• Look for RB Devin Mockobee to start and maintain his role as the No. 1 RB. No shock. He has clearly separated himself from the pack and really is the only back who is able to make something out of nothing and just has a knack. We all see it.
