Another busy week on the recruiting trail for #Purdue

- Weekend visitors in West Lafayette
- Who is expected to sign on NSD?
- Purdue lands 3 players on Sunday
- More commitments on the way?

All that and more in the Recruiting Roundup

Players expected to sign on Wednesday:

Kendrick Gilbert:

Indianapolis native Kendrick Gilbert is the highest-rated commitment for Purdue at this time as he is a four-star recruit and the No. 219 prospect in the Rivals250. Gilbert elected to wait until February 1st to ink his NLI.

The Purdue coaches have made several visits to Gilbert since taking over, including sending nearly the entire staff to Cathedral High School to meet with him. Gilbert also took a visit to Kentucky over the weekend. He is a potential flip candidate, but could still land in West Lafayette.

George Burhenn:

Another Purdue verbal commitment that waited until February to sign is three-star tight end George Burhenn. Burhenn explored the possibility of committing elsewhere following the coaching changes in West Lafayette, including taking a visit to Louisville. Burhenn is expected to sign with Purdue on Wednesday.

Issiah Walker:

Three-star offensive lineman Issiah Walker was the most recent commitment for the Boilermakers prior to Sunday. Walker announced his intentions after an official visit to West Lafayette last weekend.

Purdue will be Walker’s fourth college since coming out of the 2020 recruiting class as a four-star prospect. He attended Florida, Miami (FL) and Butler Community Collegebefore committing to Purdue.

Arhmad Branch:

Three-star athlete Arhmad Branch was the first of three players that announced their commitment to Purdue on Sunday. As Boiler Upload reported last week, the expectation was for Branch to commit once he visited campus.

After receiving his offer, Branch earned a three-star rating by Rivals. He will likely play cornerback for the Boilermakers, but could also work at wide receiver.

Derrick Rogers Jr:

Another 2023 prospect made his commitment to Purdue on Sunday. Derrick Rogers announced his intentions shortly after Arhmad Branch.

Rogers was previously committed to Marylandover the summer. He then flipped to Barry Odom and UNLV this fall before deciding on Purdue as his final destination. The Orlando native chose Purdue over high profile offers from Miami (FL), Nebraska, Ole Miss and Tulane among others.

Mondrell Dean:

Purdue offered 2023 athlete Mondrell Dean on Tuesday last week and had him on campus for an official visit just a few days later. Dean played running back and defensive end, but could focus on the defensive side of the ball in college. The Boilermakers were Dean's second power five offer in his recruitment along with Cincinnati (who is joining the Big 12 this summer.)

Dean appears to be favoring Purdue as he draws closer to a decision. Expect the Hurricane, West Virginia native to sign with the Boilermakers on Wednesday.

Chrisdasson Saint-Jean:

2023 offensive lineman Chrisdasson Saint-Jean took a visit to West Lafayette last weekend. The Orlando native was set to visit Colorado as well, but it appears he did not make the trip to Boulder. Saint-Jean's status is up in the air at this point, but is still a possibility for the Boilermakers on Wednesday.

Purdue Lands First 2024 Commitment

Hudauri Hines:

In addition to the pair of 2023 commitments, the Boilermakers landed their first member of the 2024 recruiting class in cornerback Hudauri Hines on Sunday.

Hines previously told Boiler Upload that Purdue was high on his list and that he preferred to stay in Indiana for college. The new Boilermaker commit is an Indianapolis native, playing his high school football at Franklin Central.

He committed to Purdue after taking visits to both Indiana and Toledo last weekend. Hines also held an offer from West Virginia along with several group of five programs.

Purdue Junior Day Visitors:

In addition to the players that committed, Purdue hosted a number of players in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes this weekend.

Ethan Trent:

2023 walk-on commit Ethan Trent made the trip up to West Lafayette this weekend for another visit, and his first since committing to Purdue in December. Trent plans to graduate from high school this spring and come to campus in the summer.

Jordan King:

Fort Wayne native and high-priority 2024 target Jordan King took his first visit to campus over the weekend. King visited Indianalast weekend and holds offers from the Hoosiers and Louisville along with Purdue. The 6-5, 310 pound offensive lineman is a name to watch as a potential commitment in the 2024 recruiting class.

Jo'Ziah Edmond:

A week after his teammate NiTareon Tuggle was in West Lafayette, 2024 athlete Jo'Ziah Edmond took a visit to campus as well. The Northwood two-way player took an unofficial visit to Eastern Michigan last weekend. Edmond is one of the top prospects in the state of Indiana and has become a high-priority target for the Boilermakers.

Adedamola Ajani:

Speedway, Indiana offensive lineman Adedamola Ajani is a rising prospect in next year's class. He recently picked up offers from Indiana and Louisville to go along with Ball State and Miami (OH). Purdue has not offered Adedamola yet, but there should an offer coming soon.

Austin Alexander:

Former Wisconsin commit, Austin Alexander, picked up an offer from Purdue after spending Sunday in West Lafayette. Alexander de-committed from the Badgers less than a week ago and already took a visit to Purdue. He is another name to watch for the 2024 recruiting class.

Matt Hofer:

Valparaiso offensive lineman Matt Hofer was a surprising addition to the junior day visitors over the weekend. Hofer was a part of the 2022 IHSAA state championship Valparaiso team and holds offers from Miami (OH), Toledo, Northern Illinois, and Bowling Green.

Dylan Mesman:

Four-star tight end Dylan Mesman was the only Michigan native to visit Purdue this weekend, coming down from Saline. Mesman is a one of the top targets for tight ends coach Seth Doege. He holds offers from Auburn, Minnesota, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Kansas among others.

Darrion Dupree:

2024 running back Darrion Dupree was the most high-profile prospect on campus this weekend. Dupree is the No. 153 prospect in the Rivals250 and a four-star recruit from Chicago, Illinois. Dupree is another high-priority prospect in next year's class.

Tysean Griffin:

The other four-star prospect from Illinois to travel to West Lafayette is 2024 athlete Tysean Griffin. Griffin received an offer from the Boilermakers ten days ago and has already taken a visit to Purdue. Griffin has recent offers from Louisville, Kansas State, Kansas and Wisconsin over the last week. He also took a visit to Wisconsin.

Luke Williams:

The final 2024 prospect to visit campus was Naperville, Illinois wide receiver Luke Williams. Williams was a priority for Illinoiswhile some of Purdue's staff was there and that has continued in West Lafayette. Expect Cory Patterson to make a strong push to land Williams.
