We're at halftime at Ross-Ade Stadium, so here are some first half thoughts.
  • Spencer Porath is going to get every chance to start at kicker next season as a true freshman. A missed field goal, a botched snap on an extra point, and a failed 2-point conversion are all looming large right now. Purdue is only 5 of 14 on field goal attempts this year. It is just two of its last nine.
  • Dillon Thieneman is special. He now has six interceptions on the season, a freshman record. If he gets one more today he will tie the Purdue single season record.
  • Cam Allen also now has 13 interceptions for his career, tying Ricardo Allen for second on the all-time list.
  • Donaven McCulley is giving Purdue's cornerbacks some serious problems.
  • George Burhenn and Drew Biber are having breakout games. Each has a touchdown and have combined for five catches and 80 yards when they had a single catch between them before today.
  • Purdue's ofensive line continues to struggle, but Hudson Card's mobility has kept plays alive.
  • Nic Scourton got his conference-leading ninth sack early on.
  • All things considered, the teams are pretty even. Indiana has thrown three interceptions (Brendan Sorsby only had two previously on the season), but Purdue's special teams have left five points on the field.
