Kemp actually enrolled at Kentucky. At the time he was a Prop 48 and couldn't play his freshman year. During his freshman year he was arrested for stealing gold chains from a teammate (rumored at the time to be Sean Sutton's who's dad was the coach). Kemp then left school and put himself in the following draft. Shawn played 14 seasons and left the game pretty much dead broke.

Damon Bailey. Tops all time scoring in the state of Indiana. Beat Kemp out for the state title their senior years. Proves that high school doesn't necessarily translate to college and same from college to NBA. Kemp had a nice long NBA career and Damon didn't but Shawn couldn't hold his jockstrap in high school.
Bailey was the single most overrated prep player I ever remember.
Sorry- Kemp was not on that team. He graduated 2 years earlier in 1988. That concord team did have Jamar Johnson and Jeff Massey on it, who went on to play at Nebraska and Xavier, respectively.
The 1988 Concord team with Kemp lost to Muncie Central in the title game.
I wasn't meaning Damon beat Kemps team for the title just that they played the same time in high school. Wasn't sure if they were the same year or not thanks for cleaning that up New Pal. I was young when Damon was playing but dad and all the locals around here followed BNL everywhere those days from what im told. Apparently he was something to see until his knees started failing him. I was at the title game in '90 but I don't remember it.
He really wasn't all that great. Concord was the better team in that game, but there was a whistle every time Bailey got breathed on. Wasn't a great shooter, was short, and not very athletic.
