This is a truly awful week of football, FYI.

Friday Sep 9

7:30pm EST - Louisville at UCF - ESPN2

A loss here could open up the Louisville job, for what that's worth.

Saturday Sep 10

12:00pm EST - Minnesota vs Western Illinois - BTN

Nothing to learn from this game. Wasn't anything to learn from their shutout of New Mexico State either, other than Mo Ibrahim appears to be back and healthy.

12:00pm EST - Northwestern vs Duke - FS1

Nebraska looked not-great against North Dakota so that took some luster off of Northwestern's week 0 win. But if Northwestern gets past Duke this week (who shut out Temple 30-0) then Northwestern is looking at a 4-0 start with playing an FCS opponent and then Miami (OH) before getting back to conference play.

3:30pm EST - Wisconsin vs Washington State - Fox

This would have been a really interesting game if Mike Leach were still at Wazzu. But he's not and Washington State just barely beat FCS Idaho and they're traveling all the way to Wisconsin who beats up programs like Washington State.

3:30pm EST - Maryland at Charlotte - "Stadium"?

I have no idea how this is a road game for Maryland. Usually P5 visiting G5 is an immediate upset alert (and Purdue fans would know...) but Charlotte looks incredibly bad this year. This should be a blowout, similar to Purdue visiting UConn last year.

4:00pm EST - Iowa vs Iowa State - BTN

Probably the Big Ten game of the week. Is Iowa's offense really THAT bad? We'll find out. ISU played an FCS opponent in week one so it's hard to tell how good they are... but so did Iowa and they won by two safeties lol.

4:00pm EST - Illinois vs Virginia - ESPNU

Illinois is coming off an embarrassing loss to Indiana, but Virginia at home is one of the best remedies you could ask for. Virginia beat Richmond 34-17 in week one.

6:00pm EST - FAU vs Southeastern Louisiana - ESPN3

FAU beat up Charlotte, who are in dumpster-fire mode after getting blown out by William & Mary, before losing at Ohio last week. FAU appears to be a typical G5 program so far, and there won't be much to learn from them playing an FCS team. They play UCF at home next week before they come to West Lafayette.

7:00pm EST - Syracuse @ UConn - CBSSN

After blowing out Louisville and also losing a couple key players to injury it would be nice to see how Syracuse performs against a competent opponent before we fly out to play them in week 3. But they play UConn, who lost by 11 to Utah State but did beat FCS Central Connecticut 28-3 I guess.

7:30pm EST - Nebraska vs Georgia Southern - FS1

If you're a Nebraska fan that hasn't given up on the season you have to hope that they carry over their 2nd-half performance against North Dakota (lol) to this game.

8:00pm EST - Indiana vs Idaho - BTN

IU blew out Idaho last year. Idaho was competitive against Washington State so... maybe? But probably not.
