Did the Indy Star cave to political correctness?

Or are they actively promoting political correctness? Hard to tell since that paper long ago stopped being a conservative paper.

On Friday, we posted a Gary Varvel cartoon at indystar.com that offended a wide group of readers.

Many of them labeled it as racist. Gary did not intend to be racially insensitive in his attempt to express his strong views about President Barack Obama's decision to temporarily prevent the deportation of millions of immigrants living and working illegally in the United States.


Of course they labeled it as "racist". That's what you do when you're losing an argument with a conservative. Because the only possible explanation for opposition to illegal immigration is some sort of racial hatred.

Is it normal for people to oppose others illegally entering your country or your home? Yes. Were the ones in the cartoon who showed only sarcastic opposition to uninvited guests white? Yes.

Conclusion: waaaaacist!

Illegal immigrants must not be mocked
