This is a really cool presentation of photos which were taken on or around D-Day and what those same scenes look like in their current day setting.

I saw those last week, and even my wife thought they were really cool. Normally she just pretends to be interested when I say "check this out" or "you gotta see this." Normally all I get is "uh huh. that's interesting." I think with those photos I got a "wow" (lowercase, of course)

I thought it was amazing and how well done the presentation was.

Tom Brokaw had a D-Day piece on TV last week. I only caught the tail end, but there was a veteran of D-Day who went back to a small town in France to try to find out what happened to a young boy who was wounded by a German sniper. He ended up meeting a gentleman who they think the soldier met when the man was about 5 years old. But the best part was when the American soldier said thank you. The French man (and presumably the man's wife) said "No, thank You," and then proceeded to kiss the American soldier on the cheek.

Powerful stuff.

Saw this as well, thanks for sharing - wish there were more!

Amazing how things have remained so similar.
