I have developed an equation similar to Hollinger's PER that tries to quantify how good a player is based on their stats. My goal is to track data back to 1992.

However, my data doesn't include games from 94, 95, 96, 97, 02, 04. Does anybody have boxscores of games from these years? This has been bugging me for awhile. I have season data, but not game data. Hence, I have season scores for every player since 1992, but am missing the years above when I want to look at individual games.

What's the best individual performance anyone can remember? For me, one of the most memorable is Moore going off against OSU.

Here's the best game scores since 1998, barring 2002 and 2004:

1997-98 Miller (Mich b10) 103.5
2006-07 Landry (Minn) 95.6
2010-11 J. Johnson (@MSU) 89.6
2011-12 Hummel (PSU) 86.4
2010-11 Moore (OSU) 86.3
2002-03 Deane (Iowa) 85.6
2010-11 J. Johnson (OAK) 85.1
1997-98 Miller (At MSU) 84.5
2000-01 Cunningham (FIU) 80.4
2005-06 Landry (S. Ala) 79.8
2005-06 Kiefer (at Mich) 77.5
2012-13 Hammons (IU) 77
1997-98 Miller (at OSU) 76.8
2000-01 Allison (Ap St) 75.6
1997-98 Miller (Lville) 75.2
2012-13 Hammons (Neb) 75.2
1997-98 M. Robinson (IU B10) 74.8
2004-05 Landry (at MSU) 74.7
2000-01 Cunningham (ISU) 74.5
1997-98 Miller (Ill b10) 74.4

I actually can't find the box score the top game but here's what Landry did to put it into perspective:

25 pts, 12 reb, 6 stl, 4 ast, 3 bl, 9-11 from FT

Of the top 50 games I have, JJ is on the list 16 times, followed by Hummel 14 and then Moore and Landry are tied at 9 a piece.

Interesting analysis.

The best individual games I saw or witnessed?

Glenn Robinson's final regular season game in 1994 against Illinois

The afore-mentioned E Moore's lid-lifter against Ohio State

R Hummel's 2010 three-point record game against Ohio State (sadly resulting in a loss due to some untimely turnovers and Evan Turner)

JBC's triple double in 1977

Many others are "contenders," including Keith Edmonson's 36 against Tennessee in 1981 (with a guy named Dale Ellis).

I was not fortunate enough to see any of Rick Mount's games, including his memorable 60+ game against Iowa. I'm sure Owl can fill us in on those.

I wonder about Chad Austin's game down at IU when he nailed that amazing 3 pt shot at the end of the game.

/ was on campus at that time and it was an amazing game to watch on TV. much alcohol was consumed afterwards.

How about the best overall team performances that you guys have ever witnessed from the Boilers?

Some of the ones I've seen in real time: (I'll try to list an opponent only once, for variety's sake)

-win vs. IU in 1992
-win at Michigan in 1994
-win vs. Kansas in 1994 NCAA Sweet 16
-win vs. Arizona in 2000 Wooden Tradition (? or Wooden Classic)
-win vs. Duke in 2003 Great Alaska Shootout
-this one is less memorable for most, but I just remember them shooting lights out (at least for a half) in a Maui win over DePaul in 2006
-win vs. Tennessee in 2009 Paradise Jam
-win at Michigan State in 2010
-win at Ohio State in 2010

The 2010 game against WVU stands alone in my mind as the best team performance. We dominated a F4 team from start to finish.

My dad would say the 1979 game against MSU.

A few of my favorite/most memorable games, although some probably weren't "best" team performances:

-- Baby Boilers' frosh win at the Kohl Center
-- Beating #2 Ohio State (E'twaun's 38 point game)
-- At Alabama (2010-2011)...down by a bunch, and Kramer sealed the comeback with incredible defense
-- Home win against WVU
-- For some reason, Tarrance Crump's game-winner against No. 25 Virginia stands out. I'll never forget that one, probably because I was still a kid, and thought beating a ranked team of any number was a huge feat haha
-- Obviously, every win against MSU and IU, but this past year's win at IU gave me a lot of joy
