More unintended consequences of the new transfer rules? SMU has only played four games (hurricane Ian moved their Sat game with UCF to this Wed), but contributing players have already announced they'll be sitting out the remainder of the season to protect this year's eligibility in anticipation of entering the transfer portal after the season ends.
I suppose every team is at risk of this now. Would you want to take a really good transfer player who chose this route, but essentially dumped on his current coach/team after just 1/3 of a season?
