Izzo isn't #1 unless it's a lifetime achievement award. At present, he's certainly not above Painter (I think Painter's won 9 of last 10 against him) and I'd put another coach or two ahead of him as well.

Woodson is not good at all. In a year he will be gone after he proves again he can't coach a multi-million-dollar roster to anything significant.

I think by Big Ten bylaws Chris Collins has to be #1 any year that Northwestern does the bare minimum to make the NCAA tournament.

Yes, Collins has had some success at Northwestern. I really want to root for Northwestern because my dad graduated from there. But in my 50 years of following the Big 10, I have never disliked a coach more than I dislike Chris Collins.

IU rose to the occasion and made the tournament last year. They are still bragging about it, and their 2nd place finish. Miracle season! Why isn't Woody rated higher?
