6'-11" Yankuba Sima announced that he is transferring from St. John's. Sophomore, averaging 7 and 6. Seems odd that he would quit at this point in the season. Don't know much about him but I would think we would see if there was any interest. I assume that he would have 2 years of eligibility left.

Sometimes, if a player knows he doesn't like his current school, he transfers at the end of the 1st semester so that they can play 2nd semester at his new school. That's when the meat of the schedule is.

how can he play 2nd semester at a new school, don't you sit out a year?
That's what he's saying, they have to sit out a year, which is the 2nd semester at the new school, and then sit for the Fall semester, and be eligible to play by 2nd semester next year.

ok , I got ya, I figured maybe that's what was meant, then again I was wondering if there was some way a player could do it right away that I wasn't aware of.

After more reading I figured this out as well. I think we should take a look. The article claimed he is a rim protector. We could use that next year

Sure there could be legitimate reasons, but I seriously doubt the commitment of any player who walks out on their teammates half way through a season.....seems more than a little bit selfish to me.....we should spend our time on other avenues.

I understand your reasons, but perhaps the team is toxic. St Johns has had some turmoil recently, so I will hold judgement.
