Brohm made an offer today to an offensive lineman from Tennessee. His name and ranking is not as important as his recruiting class. It's 2019. When was the last time you saw a Purdue coach give out an offer 1 year in advance, and this one is 2 years in advance. It shows that Brohm does his homework and knows how to recruit . he takes recruiting seriously. Unlike anything Purdue has seen in the past 5, maybe 10 years.
there is a Juco receiver named Vico visiting this weekend. The VIP headline says he has been a long time target of Brohm. I'm not sure how accurate that statement is, or the definition of long. But it appears to me Brohm has established relationships with a lot of players long before their senior years, and while we may look at the WKU offers given out, I have to believe Brohm in the past has contacted a lot of players and established relationships that were never listed.
Each day I see a name of a player Brohm has previously contacted. Admittedly, not all of them are coming to Purdue. But unlike Hazell, who had a tendency to post a help wanted sign and hope athletes apply, Brohm seems to be a guy who loves hitting that recruiting trail. Yes, his assistants are also out there, but Brohm is leading the charge. and the day before one of his biggest recruiting weekends as a head coach where is he? he's not behind his desk - he's out at a high school again.
To be the best, you have to get up early and beat the best.
