We all clearly recognize that one of the defects on this team is the lack of a PG who can break down the D, create their own shot, etc.

I actually think Hill is athletic enough to get into the lane and get to the rim but it's not a focus of the O right now. However, I do think that maybe it would help Haas (who's struggling right now) and Biggie get some easy rebounds and putbacks to have Hill do more driving/attacking when he's in to draw the other teams big over to defend the rim leaving Haas and Biggie to crash the boards and clean up the mess. Hill doesn't even have to make the shot, he just needs to get the other big away from the bucket, throw is up there and let our bigs go for the rb.
Granted, you leave yourself open to transition going the other way if you don't get the rb....

Watched Gissell from Iowa do this a number of times.

I don't think you are correct in assuming that "we all clearly recognize" a defect at the PG position.

I agree with Brian's blog from this morning...this is not a huge weakness.

Our PGs are playing well within the system Painter has set up. And we're 13-1, with the one loss being a collective team effort loss, not an individual position loss.

Hill is definitely the guy who can drive to the basket (he had one nice one with a floater last night). But I think right now - especially with Davis on the floor - just in general, our guards need to do more to create offense. Part of this does rely on our big men. The defense will follow them and they need to make room for our guards. Wisconsin is a pretty sound defensive team, but we've seen this work previously (see IU games last year).

Overall, tonight's main issue was shot selection. Swanigan taking three 3s, Cline and Stephens both took poor shots, etc. But we actually ended up shooting nearly 40% from 3. But it was a low number of shots. I'm ok with low if they are efficient like they were relatively tonight. But especially when Swanigan has a tough night like he did tonight, we need some more output from the guards.
