I'm not sure you can sugarcoat this. This defense just stinks. No way that game should have been lost.
Even my optimistic outlook can't find anything good about today. And frankly I don't think they can stop IU next week and the offense is going to have to score a LOT of points just to have a chance to win.
Not going for 2 after second TD is a head scratcher!!!!!! Our defense was totally gassed......Not saying it as an after the fact moment...we were all yelling it at our local watering hole...unbelievable!
Put a lot of coaching today...Holt, no answer for their running gamme and Brohms play calling with 2 first and goals at the one and two yard lines and not just running it up the gut on 3 straight plays with our backs...
Load the backfield and qb sneak it - ala the NE Patriots. An easy 1 td every time...
We had a chance to end it be going for 2. We had NO chance of stopping Wisconsin. Brohm made a garbage decision.
Hopefully they shot their wad and come out flat next week.
I thought Wiscy shot themselves in the foot a lot in the first half, trying to get cute on offense. Taylor could have gone for 400 in regulation if they’d have committed to the run more early on.
