I saw a powerful offensive team in action today. This team Canada is not a bunch of left overs. They ate a pretty good group. I think Purdue will often be on the positive side of the scoring contest.

Agree about the offense. It will round into shape nicely. I am really jacked about the potential on defense. They are making lots of early season mistakes now but the length and bounce is making it possible to cover up many of the screw ups.
Once the mistakes are minimized the true defense will be seen and that's gonna be really good.

Numbers tend to get inflated with international rules...no one and ones, two shots after 5 fouls, 25 second shot clock.

Purdue led the conference in scoring and has a good chance at being better because if shooting and increased athleticism...but if Purdue shoots 6-29 from three in January...they'd have a tough time cracking 50.

Ewing needs to stay on the floor and stop going for the pump fake....

JT needs to quit reaching...if he continues that they will call that in the Big Ten....he swipes at the ball too much....lower your base and hands up and move your feet.

Cline and Boogie are drifting on their 3 pointers......get set and fire no fade away 3's...Grrrrrrrr hate that!

Dakota need to slow down as well.....he doesn't have the talent to play fast, but he is the best at playing smart.

Wheeler plays beyond his youth.....reminds me of J. Cornell....golfers mentality..calm and collected.

PJ, Haas, Dakota and Vincent are the clear leaders on this team.....as they go this team goes.

Sasha needs to play this year an not redshirt.......he has the ability to help this year......great outside shot and long arms for 6ft 5in......play him coach.

Excited to see what Haarms ads to the mix......

G. Eifert is the solid ace in the whole......utility guy who is very solid......

All in all good stuff and I think we have a chance at Gold.....but IMO we may lose one or two if we have an off shooting night and foul trouble.

Any medal I would be proud.

So you think we'll have a 12 man rotation?

I think they will all be needed at some point this year....

Not every game but at some point in the season......

Being on a team means sacrifice........some may not get lots of minutes but they will be called upon and need to make the most of those minutes.....

I see Sasha bring a player that could come in and hit a key 3 or free throws when needed...that's a valuable piece to have on a team to utilize.....

Time will tell and maybe the lack of Haarms in the rotation on the court made me feel that way, but I think it is all hands on deck this year.

Purdue more than most years will rely on team wins....this year.....we have always been about team....but this year especially the sum of the parts will be what makes us great.....including the positive support from fans and alumni.

What? Golfers mentality? Calm and collected? Hell, my golfer's mentality is stressful with a pissy mood afterwards. Not as bad as Bobby Knightmare but still....:)

Just funnin' with you. Wheeler was a good get from what I've seen so far.[/QUOTE]

Haas, VE and and CE will probably all be relied on for their scoring this year. However there will be games where at least 2 maybe all 3 will have difficulty getting the ball in the hoop for one reason or another. Need that team scoring from the other parts. Also can't wait to see who will emerge as defensive leaders on the team. Mathiad did least year but we have more athletes this year that can cause havoc.

Yeah but did you see the dunk followed by the 3 late in the game. It was electrifying!!
Definitely. It's when he forces that he makes mistakes. When he takes what's given, he's unstoppable. He's so quick and strong that he can do things that most players can't. But even with that, he's still learning not to force it.

Stefanoniv I think could help BUT I think you RS anyway because he would be way down the rotation. Plus you create another year of space for a good shooter with Mathias leaving. I think he may be more in the mold of Mathias with a bit more athleticism once the trainer gets ahold of him for a full year.

Reminds me a little of E'Twaun Moore. Once E'Twaun learned to take what was given, he took his game to a whole new level. Like Carsen, it was a lesson that he never really had to learn prior to college because he was such a gifted scorer.

You absolutely RS Sasha. No question. Another full year with him is far greater than the minimal minutes he's going to see this year.
