You've gotta be kidding me. I thought they were more known for making forklifts lolI was surprised.
Correct, to an extent. It depends how you are counting them. Ivy League teams have the most (like 30) going back the the 1800’s.
Then it gets weird because certain teams (like Alabama & Michigan) count titles nobody else does. Then ND actually counts less than they are awarded. Alabama for example, counts any title, from any poll, regardless the prestige. If ND did that they would actually have 22. So if ND & Bama counted the same way ND would have more. ND is credited with 13, but only recognizes 11 because two weren’t consensus. They are the only team to only accept consensus. Michigan, like Alabama, counts many titles that weren’t from legitimate polls. There have been articles written about the stories behind some of the titles Bama & Michigan claim that are hilarious.
What happened 8 years ago?Correct, to an extent.
But, to your point, even UCF claims a mythical national title from 2017.
All we had until 8 years ago was a "mythical national championship".
The point is the discussion. Part of the discussion is how the landscape of CFB has changed throughout history (and continues to this day).
I was looking at it from the start, and you are correct on the Ivy league. It depends how you are counting them. Ivy League teams have the most (like 30) going back the the 1800’s.

I'm guessing Princeton....but only from the "ivy league" hint, and that I know Purdue tried to model its Program after the Princeton Tigers when Purdue FB started.
After my guess...I looked up the answer and (at least according to this Jan. '21 list) I was INCORRECT!
It does! I think the first time I visited the site the page didn't download the last 2 (which includes Bama). After my guess...I looked up the answer and (at least according to this Jan. '21 list) I was INCORRECT!
