Depends on which polls. I assume you mean the two that are publicized based on votes. We are 8 in KenPom and higher than that in two other metric-based polls. I try to look at Vegas odds and see what they are thinking and they seem to follow KenPom pretty well.
That does NOT mean the selection committee even knows what a metric is.
I know. I am always worried about the selection committee because, well they are the selection committee. Popularity contest committee that is.
Well I do have a JD from IU but got my education and critical thinking skills from Purdue. It was a joke.
looks like vegas futures have purdue in 15-18 range similar to the beginning of the year. also have indiana in top 30?!
unfortunately kenpom doesn't fully eliminate his preseason ratings until mid/late january.
There are a couple of good games today with #2 Kansas hosting #16 Arizona State and #12 Gonzaga visiting 7-2 Washington. They are the only real chances for ranked losses before the next poll. A look at who has lost already this week:
#1 Duke
#2 Kansas
#5 Florida (twice)
#7 Texas A&M
#9 Notre Dame
#12 Gonzaga
#14 Minnesota (twice)
#15 Virginia
#17 Cincinnati
#22 Nevada (twice)
#25 USC
We will pass Minnesota and Florida for sure and Cincinnati almost assuredly. Virginia is a possible as is Gonzaga if they lose tonight. I'd expect 17th or 18th.
Agree with ZZ....inside the top 20 but outside the top 15. The Boilers need to play with focus and keep it rolling. Big game next weekend....gonna have to come out ready to play from the start if they want to completely reverse the curse.

#14 Minn got 758/335 (Xavier at #14 in USA got 381)
#18 WV (557 -AP) or Cincy (251 - USA))
We won't double our votes.
We can go from 266/143 to probably 400/200 - maybe more.Which would put us ranked at 19 to 20.
Minny will drop below us, I doubt VA (728/438) will drop below 400/200 and Cincy needs to drop from 583/251 to below 400/200, which is possible, but not necessarily probable.
Based on number of votes we are NOT getting, I suspect we end-up at 18 to 19
TOTALLY not a representative rank ... but we need to move a LOT of votes.
