1) Turnovers are an issue, but most of them are unforced. Ball went through the hands of Haas and AJ for 4 of them. Team just needs to settle down, especially at the start of the game, which is when we get most of them.

2) How that breakaway by PJ wasn't called a foul I'll never know. Wisky player came down on top of him.

3) Outside shooting is my biggest concern of this team right now. With our bigs, Stephens, Cline and Mathias should be getting open looks. Need to get that fixed.

4) Swanigan will be back next year. Looked like a freshman today and never got into the flow on offense. Scary thing for opponents is how we will look when he's on.

5). Wisky just doesn't seem the same without Bo... I miss seeing him on the sidelines.

Good analysis. I have the same thoughts myself.

I agree there are issues so I hope we put it all together at the right time. Hell. we are 12-1 so things could be a lot worse. I can also remember Purdue teams peaking too early. If this team peaks at the end of the season...watch out NCAA. The dream could happen.

Also should point out that it was Dakota's clutch shooting down the stretch that pretty much sealed it.

Purdue's shooting numbers really weren't that bad compared to what most teams put up in that building.

There are definitely a lot of factors at play for each game. First off, we haven't played in a week and obviously there were holidays in-between. Secondly, playing at the Kohl Center and playing on the road in the Big Ten is no easy feat no matter the quality of opponent. Wisconsin is certainly not what they typically are, but you also see bad teams beat good teams in the Big Ten.

However, there's also a lot of recurring themes we're seeing. Obviously turnovers are the most obvious. I think spacing is becoming another. We're feeding the post a lot - but we're also putting ourselves in bad situations in the post. And sometimes are bigs are forcing bad situations upon themselves. Perimeter shooting was weird tonight. Swanigan had a bad game offensively - his 3 threes were just not good. However, it's not like we shot a ton and missed them all. We only shot 13. Our guards will need to contribute more scoring to keep defenses honest though. We can beat a team like Wisconsin relying so much on our interior, but we're not gonna be able to beat the Michigan States, Marylands, etc. playing like that offensively. And quite frankly, even teams like Iowa.

Stephens, Mathias, and Cline all are much more effective coming off screens to catch and shoot. Rythm is more natural. Need to work more at creating that kind of shot off the inside-out play that we are striving for. Spacing is also becoming problematic.
