the TOP 10, for all who care about rankings. I don’t put a ton of thought into rankings but I do believe it puts our name out and helps with recruitment.

Boiler up!

Let's just say I love the players coming back next year and I love our incoming recruits. And we have 3 scholarships to add another elite freshman. And 2 experienced transfers plus add Sasha and Wheeler. Our future looks good!

being in the top 10 is nice. but right now, it's kind of the expected norm!

There's 2 Big Ten teams in all of the top 25. In the AP Poll there's not even another Big Ten team receiving votes. It's not easy to do - and certainly only the 'norm' for a few select programs.

That being said, there's about 5 threads a day posted about rankings, when you start to obsess over it, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. This is how unrealistic expectations start.

I sure didn't see this year coming. I knew Purdue and MSU would be good. But I thought at least 5-6 other BIG 10 teams (UW, Mich, Maryland, Minn, NW) would at least be decent.

Down goes Arizona State! Nice! MSU crushed Maryland last night it appears based on the final score! A far as other decent Big Ten teams go, I am not that impressed with Northwestern or Maryland. Especially Northwestern; I thought they would be doing better at this point. I think Michigan and Minnesota are good and will be ranked before the end of the year. Not sure Ohio State is quite there yet, but so far they have an unblemished Big Ten record - so maybe.

If our Boilers can get into the top10 next week that would be pretty cool! We just need to keep winning and playing at an impressive level. I think the Minnesota and Michigan games are crucial! (Not that we can overlook Nebraska), but I think the Michigan and Minnesota games are critical to us getting a top seed in the tournament (1 thru 3 seed) versus getting an average seed (4 thru 6 seed). Not that there won't be other chances to win some big games later in the season; but I think if we can win those 2 games we could be parking nice in the top 10 for quite a while!
