It's nice that we haven't been a turnover machine so far but we might get knocked around by bigger front line teams. It appears we will live or die through Wilson's play. If she's playing well we may compete but that's not a given every game as we know. Time will tell. Can't say much about this team yet. but it seems that they still can't shoot very well and indeed have nothing close to the interior scoring they had last year. So I agree, it does not bode well, but I try to never judge a team until I see what they actually do. We do seem to be playing some good D and Wilson is playing her best, so much so, that we can hardly have her off the floor. Also really like what Keys and Perry are doing and Morrisette does seem more confident as does Thornton. Pretty young overall tho . I still predict a WNIT bid, hope for better. The persistent comments about our fall from glory are now officially a dead horse.
I guess I would like to know WTF we are doing in not recruiting Chicago area. Sports page of Chicago Tribune today has a run down of Chicago area women's high school teams, stars, and where they are committed. Top girl an Illini recruit ???? with the rest seemingly lined up by ND, OSU, FSU, Nebraska. Seems to me LWH needs to get off her ___ and get up there and line up some players unless, like the football team, we have written off the area in our fall to mediocrity.Agree; it is a different Purdue WBB world. For years, we were always the hunted. Now we are one of the hunters. Have no idea if that will ever change back to what it was. If so, probably not every year like it used to be. It is what is is. No since recounting all that brought us to this place. Time to enjoy whatever success we achieve.
