We are in a friendlier division though. The East is a scary place. You're right...IU is a better job than Purdue right now.
Wrong. You're right...IU is a better job than Purdue right now.
Is Tom Allen capable of being a good head coach?I dont think he has ever been one at the college level.
I think the one big thing going for him is he's a former HS coach at one of the powers (Ben Davis) in Indiana and should have some solid connections to in-state players. Whether he can be a HC is yet to be seen.Is Tom Allen capable of being a good head coach?I dont think he has ever been one at the college level.
You are correct. Its a crap shoot. You never know how much success a guy is going to have at any school until he actually tries it.Honestly, it's a complete crap shoot.
Alvarez was never a HC. Fitzgerald at Northwestern, never a head coach. Darrell Hazzell...a head coach. Dinardo a head coach at two stops.
DJ Durkin, not a head coach. If you look at the Big Ten, there are some guys that came from coordinator ranks: IU, NW, Minn, Rutgers, Maryland, Iowa.
Nationally, you have guys like Dabo Sweeney, Pat Narduzzi, Kirby Smart.
The guy that I am actually shocked never became a head coach is Bud Foster.
