Trump has chosen to turn up the rhetoric and the lies about immigration at his rallys running up to today's election, apparently against the wishes of some of his advisors who wanted him to focus on the economy and jobs. Will it work or backfire?

One thing is for sure. He will take credit for any victories and blame others for the losses.

Have you increased your rent to The Donald for the ever increasing amount of space he takes up in your head?

Lies???? Please post those lies for us. What I've heard Trump say is very true regarding what's going on, including the march being funded by one of Soros' organizations.

Exhibit A of someone utterly detached from reality. The perfect Trump supporter.
I could have some respect for them if I thought they acknowledged the lies but went along with them for some reason, like tax cuts or something, but the fact that they have given up reason and simply believe whatever conspiracy/delusion/lie that Trump and conservative media throw out there is pathetic.

If you believe Trump is telling the truth on these things in the face of all evidence than yes, you are detached from reality.

Does the right just stick their fingers in their ears when people present facts which refute their worldview? They always come to argue but then just disappear when they are proven wrong.

Yes - but that is not exclusive to the right. I think there is a defined population on the left that can't get past how things feel instead of how things are.

Hi Ben Shapiro, can you give me an example of how we value feelings over facts? Because I’m still not convinced. Sounds more like projection (kneeling for the anthem makes conservative snowflakes melt) than honest evaluation

Yes, that's pretty much exactly how all of these conversations on here go. Either ignore the facts, use a terrible false equivalence that they think somehow makes sense, or post some blog spam site that attempts to back up their position.

Well, I could point you to the "Change my mind" series that is done by Steven Crowder. He goes to college campuses to challenge students on specific positions, and the videos provide good examples of individuals who hold liberal positions holding how they feel about a topic in higher regard than actual evidence and data.

Disclaimer - yes I understand this is anecdotal, and yes it is from someone who aligns with the right; but that is what you asked for.

And for the record, I think Ben Shapiro is a try-hard and there is nothing wrong with kneeling for the anthem...but if you want to make assumptions about me based on a single sentence than you can continue to be what is wrong with society.

Gillum bites the dust...who would vote for that far left candidate...good news for Florida!

Steve King hung on. That's ummmm.....interesting. Ditto Collins in NY, despite likelihood of going to jail. He gets the Marion Berry Award for sure.

Glad Mitt won....though James in MI is losing. A James vs O'Rourke race would be an interesting POTUS match-up someday.

Why does Trump need more space when he obviously holds 100% occupancy of yours? He's obviously cornered the market with you.

Kris Kobach bites the dust.

One POS down.

Walker, too.

Cruz barely hung on but, in the process, may have given the dems their dream 2020 candidate.

2020 is going to be rough for the GOP. If the economy loses any momentum at all, say goodbye to both chambers and the presidency. They'll also lose their gerrymandered advantage in 2021 as more governships and/or state legislatures turn blue.

Hope they enjoy their last two years of politics rooted in trolling libs and fearmongering.

Kansas is a conservative state, but not an angry state. Kobach is not a happy guy.
What do you think about Desantis winning in FL, Kemp in GA, Dewine in OH? Three highly important states for 2020 right there. Hell, Bob Stefanowski is losing by only about 10,000 in deep blue CT. Still not called due to voting irregularities in New Haven. What a shock. VT elected an R governor.

Also, FL, IN, ND, MO, and MT all appear to have flipped to R in the Senate. Scott won FL, Cruz won TX. TN stayed R.

Last night was no blue wave. It went about as expected.

Beto ran a pretty clean campaign, staying positive and consistent with a unifying message. Raised a lot of money from individual contributions.

Close doesn't count.......but to come that close to beating an established pub in Texas without getting in the gutter is impressive. He's going to be around for awhile. I found his message very refreshing.

Beto O’Rourke for President? You’ve got to be joking. Trump will win in 2020 and oddly enough the Ds will help him do it. They seem insistent on trying to take down Trump instead of actually trying to govern and get things done. Resistance is a strategy for losing but one the Ds seem to want to do.

So you’re a Democratic Socialist, Bob? Beto is quite far-left.

Pelosi in 2018 equates to Trump in 2020. The American people seem to have forgotten why they went so RED under Obama. They will be reminded over the next two years and it bodes well for Trump in 2020.

Trump has created a younger, more energized, and more engaged electorate. This is only going to become more pronounced before 2020.

This fearmongering and nationalism is going to be the death of the GOP.

It’s telling when multiple former R governors all threw their support behind the D candidate in this race. Kobach is very out there in his right-wing beliefs.
True SD. Sometimes when you see guys/gals "on the same team" blackball someone it sorta lets us on the outside know there may be something wrong with this dude. A bit like sports...you see the one teammate that the other players just won't talk to...you know something's up.

That said, I would not equate Kobach and Trump. Different animals and situations altogether.

Agree. Not a blue wave, but a pretty above average night for D's and a disappointing night for R's, but it could have been much worse...and a few silver linings like FL.

Will be interesting to see what plays out in 2020 when R's are on the defensive in the Senate with many more of their seats are up.

Can't win em all. Dems won far more than they lost, including a lot of flips last night.

Only going to cascade further over the next two years as more of the electorate sours on Trump's bullshit.

Nope. Voting for people with character and who want to work with the other side to solve our many problems. Party affiliation doesn't matter.

What you continually fail to grasp is elected officials rarely get the exact legislation......or in this case, system of government, they want. I don't believe Beto is a socialist.....you and Ted think he is. But if he is willing to work with others to find soloutions, it is going to be a compromise that works because the other side will have been involved. This isn't a kingdom, as much as Trump would like it to be.

Beto terrifies the GOP, and for good reason.
