Because Fox owns the rights to the Gavitt games and obviously wouldn't give up a marquee game to their RivaL
Is FS1 in more households than BTN? Before the MLB playoffs, I'm not sure I'd ever watched anything on FS1.Then the better question is why FS1 didn't carry it. Maybe they didn't get to pick first but I think this is clearly the top game in this series and the only one on Monday night. Perhaps they didn't want to waste a pick on a game to go up against MNF?

For the Gavitt Games, the Big East broadcast partner (FS1) airs the Big East home games & the BTN airs the B1G home games.
The game vs villy will be a great matchup between two very good teams. Why didn't espn schedule this game for Tuesday and make it prime time?
I just don't get it. You got a top 15 matchup with the defending champs and the best they can do is the BTN.
You read this thread and you still don't get it? Interesting.I just don't get it. You got a top 15 matchup with the defending champs and the best they can do is the BTN.

Duke must have a huge showdown with App State or Navy!
Hated those Monday night games back in the 80's. Home team tip offs not til 9:45 eastern time due to SEC game running long, not getting home til way after midnight. Knight had that right by bitching to the Big Ten about the start times. That is why the Big Ten got moved to Tuesday nights on ESPN.I did like back in the day when conference games had one of the ESPN Monday night slots.
