I realize that PWO does not mean we are using a scholarship. However, Brohm has given quite of few PWO scholarships later on in future years in the past.

QB seems to be a position that we would be good at with Allen and hopefully Collins. We also have Alaimo.

Could he move to TE?

Few reasoen

Kid is 6’7” 235. If he doesn’t have the arm at QB he can try TE.

His younger brother is a TE and may be a kid Purdue recruits in the future, so having his brother already at Purdue won’t hurt

In the world of the Portal, your back up QB can be gone in an instant. Doesn’t hurt to have options behind him

This guy screams tight end. Or maybe a diamond in the rough QB at 6' 7".

Teams like Nebraska used to have 30-40 walkons. I read somewhere that he went to some QB camp and became good friends with a couple of the Purdue QBs.

maybe he’ll become Purdue’s version of Rudy. Looking at Purdue’s QB recruits of the future, I doubt he’ll ever play QB. But he could become a nice locker room , practice and special teams player. Maybe he could become a holder for extra points.

it’s nice to see players wanting to join our team! I think this is a positive!

QB’s are quite the athlete. As you indicate, good for TE if sizable or move to defensive secondary.

Or pack on even more pounds/muscle and go to tackle
Lol you were one of those guys pushing that Garrett Miller grow a tackle nonsense huh. Purdue isn’t going to play a former 235 lb. PWO QB at OT in the coming recruiting environment.. they’ll end up pulling the best OT from Washington state or Kansas state.

I think Brohm did to piss off Wolegib,he finds something bad about all of our recruits!!

Given he is shitty at recruiting OTs, maybe he should try.

If the coaches see a kid with potential and he's willing to come to Purdue as a PWO, that's found money. If he works out, he'll either give us quality depth or a potential starter at some point.

If it doesn't work out, then you haven't lost anything. Why not roll the dice?

With Collins not coming he just moved up a notch.

Not bad. Rather I provide a realistic and objective perspective rather than a homer viewpoint. I would have said nice things about the two Indiana linemen who chose to go to Iowa! And why did they choose Iowa over Purdue? You know the reasons! You don’t need me telling you. Or maybe some of you do! Brohm is sort of like Painter. He knows and sees talent, but if you’re an elite offensive lineman, like Booker is to basketball, you don’t come to Purdue.

I also am not a fan of overstocking recruiting one position. Please don’t tell me we brought in a QB walkon to play receiver or dback. We have plenty of receivers and dbacks. I’m also not a huge fan of converting players to new positions in college. 4 star QBs are not 4 star tight ends. If you want a tight end, recruit one.

And please, please please don’t try to say, well it worked for Tiller as if that was last year! Saying it worked for Tiller is like saying you had a cellphone in the 90’s . Things have changed just a tad since Tiller left!

let’s remain realistic and objective! We signed a walkon QB. He will provide depth at qb, not our offensive line or lb. You want a lineman? Find a walkon lineman or transfer. He may become a backup qb in a few years. he’ll also redshirt so he can be here longer. Who knows? He might replace AOC. Transfers and decommitments are a current way of life in college football.

Did alaimo actually leave? I guess we’ll have to recruit another qb to play TE!

Is camp now 110 or is it still 105?

PWO are pretty common around the Big Ten.

85 scholarships, if teams are at full strength, then 20 to 25 non-scholarship players in Camp.
